I just got my Snow Performance stage 2 meth/water kit on. I took her out for some burns and then no go... I was in first gear spooling it up, I let it go and after about 15 feet the rpms peeged and forward motion stopped. I have no reverse, or forward but when i put it in park it will stop and hold the truck. So can I rule out the input shaft. What else could it be??????

I would say you can "rule in" the input shaft, it would have nothing to do with park working or not, could've busted the flex plate too.

Sounds like an input shaft. When they break they can also take out the front pump and the torque convertor. I hope not, but plan for the worst. Look at it this way, it's not breakage, just time for another performance upgrade.

it's time for a Billet input a new pump, and converter call up DTT 1 866 504 4002 if you broke the out put you would NOT have park!!

Definately spring for the billet shaft. I bought my truck and broke the input shaft less than two weeks later. I bit the bullet and went for the shaft. IT already had every other DTT part but the shaft. IT was well worth it, not I don't have to worry about the transmission one bit.

When you lost your input shaft what did it take with it?? I think it would do the most damage to the pump??? What abou the TC?

Luckily mine was a clear break and only sheered off all the teeth/splines on the shaft and hub. IT didn't take out anything else, I was very pleased. But if it broke in the middle of the shaft I was told it would have taken out the TC and potentially other things. ITs really hard to say until they tear your transmission apart.

Drop the pan, you'll find out real quick what's floating around.

General rule, broken input shaft equals new shaft, TC and possibly pump housing.

But the rest of the system will need to be cleaned, inspected.

You already know a stock one won't hold up, and by the time you replace the other parts that it can take out and pay the labor bill the 400. 00 will be the small part of the bill. The third stock shaft will cost much more than the one billet that lasts. Or maybe you want to put your truck back to stock and just use it for transportation, not entertainment. Jake

Thats what my wife says. nag nag "that truck is a toy". I just smile and say you just wish you could drive it. :D

An extra $349. 00 is cheap compared to what a TC, pump, and labor will set you back if it breaks again. Without a doubt I would get the billet shaft.
