I was taking my PM3 of today and when I went to remove the scotch lock from the pump wire the wire came apart in my hands.

I didn't have any solder around so I just used a but connector for now but it did display a check engine light that I will have to get taken off.

Just kind of curious if this has happened to anyone else and what you did to fix it?

Kind of a six feeling to have the VP44 wire brake apart in your hand.

I have had wires brake where taped before. Becarefull and solder it. Light should go away after 3 sucssefull drives.

So I guess a short peace of wire and some solder will work okay?

The truck has a little bit of a dead spot in it now with the but connector, I'm guessing it's not making a very good connection, so it's going bye bye tomorrow. Hopefully the solder will work, along with a little bit of heatshrink tubing.

I have a TST graber to use on the new box so hopefully it will be a little better than the scotch lock connector.

DarrelB,

Mine broke, I used a small piece of wire and soldered it... been fine ever since. Just don't look at it... it's UGLY, but works fine.

p. s. I covered it it with silicon(sp?)

I really don't care what it looks like or if anyone know's it's been tampered with. The truck is a 99 it's out of any kind of waranty so I'll do what ever I want with it. :D

Thanks for the tip though, I'm gonna solder it up in the AM. Having at junky but connector on there is driving my nutts.

Thanks for the help guys.

Got the wires all soldered in today and even put in a connector for the fueling box. No more scotch locks or grabbers for me.

It's quite amazing how well a truck runs when it's getting full signal to the injection pump too. ;)
