My tailgate cable broke on my 98 2500. Does anyone know where a better one can be purshed or have suggestions for fixing the old one?

thanks

My local parts houses (Auto Zone) had them in their "HELP" misc section for like $15 a piece I think..... cheaper than the dealer. ;)

Helpful hint hit the ends of your cables with silicone where water can't get into them and cause them to rust and eventually snap.

To keep them from breaking again, due to mointure accumulation and the resulting rust, I recommend putting a dab of epoxy on each end. Where the bracket crimps around the cable, there is a socket where you can see the exposed cable ends. Dab a little in there, let it set up and they're all sealed.
