I broke three of those rods when my truck was fairly new, all of them while towing a 5er. Two of them were under warranty. When the third one broke I researched adjusting it in my FSM and discovered the one I was replacing was installed backward. 750k later I have never had another one break. I believe the original was backward and the dealers' techs installed the replacements the same. I also periodically snap it off, clean the sockets and lube with white grease. Just to let you know, the rod only pulls, so if it breaks a length of wire will function just fine.

For future reference, the new improved rod ends come in a kit from Dodge. CANZ9700 also includes a new throttle cable. Less than $20, far less expensive than the throttle cable by itself. I carry a kit as a spare.

Is this it??? This is what Cummins shipped with that engine to Dodge. If it is not shown in this illustration than it will be a Dodge item.

If it is the rod and parts shown here, then tell me what key numbers you need and I will get you part numbers and pricing. I assume that you would need 7 and 8 if this the set-up that your truck has.

Mike. :)

Mike, is it possible to get the two bushings, #11 in the picture? Part #?

Thanks

3914353 is the part number. You will have to order two from what the parts listing shows.

Just called Cummins, 330 of them in stock at the factory.

They must be used for many applications other than Dodge in order for them to have that kind of stock on hand.

$5. 00 or so each.
