Thanks for the job you are doing, but I think you are lacking a couple of key facts. We (ie. people who raise cattle instead of complaining about the cost of a hamburger) have been enjoying the benefits of negligible beef cattle market price increases while store prices increase, drought, and purchased hay prices of $45. 00 to 85. 00 per 1000 lb roll. Furthermore, I nor, any other person who raises cattle, controls the market price for beef cattle. Contrary to your understanding, I don't hang a "for sale" sign on my heifers and steers for someone to come up and pay my price for them. It is all market driven and we are finally about to enjoy a market that might be beneficial to us for a change.
Just because you are in the military does not buy you the right to crap on those of us who are not. Understand your facts better before you start throwing rocks. If you still feel the same way when you return home (I hope you do return home safely), you are more than welcome to come down to our local livestock auction on a Saturday morning and air your views.
