I could have swore I read something about this awhile back but I never have much luck with the search engine. Anyway, is it common to have a lot of bubbles in the transmission fluid on the dipstick when you check it? If not, what is the problem?

I've heard bubbles present in the fluid is an indication of foaming, which means there may be to much fluid in the transmission. If I'm wrong somebody will chime in and correct me.

tiny bubbles

Bubbles can also be from low fluid(sucking air) or restricted filter or as mentioned. Assure fluid level correct(check in neutral, engine warm). Have found some sticks not real accurate, have filled some slightly above full mark and have had no foaming problems or venting. HTH
