I hit a bump leaving work today and the transmission acted as if it hit neutral and then back to drive. I drove it the 6 miles home and parked it. Left an hour later and it had two power surges rather than the normal one. . One soft and then one normal forward surge.

The transmission felt softer than normal going into town so I checked it and the fluid is above full but is full of bubbles. This is at temp in park rather than neutral. The fluid has 40k on it and hasn't lost any the entire time... no towing, and not enough power to hurt it. It's still nice and red.

I searched about the bubbles but didn't turn up anything. . What does it mean?!? Now is not a good time for a new transmission. :(

If a fluid and filter change will help it, it's done. . Only other option is that I knocked it out of alignment and it's loading the transmission up hard.

Something makes me doubt that though.

What sayeth the transmission guru's???

Thanks for any help.

Well, I wish you gave a ton more info, but here goes.

Does the shift linkage feel normal?

Check the fluid in neutral with stock v/b, they don't have cooler flow or converter

charge in park and this could give you false reading on dipstick and trans fluid is

actually low.

Check for any leaks, even a seep.

check kickdown cable, is it on, free movement?

Bubbles are air obviously! Is it too full or too low?

This is all I can give with what you gave, good luck.

Thank you for trying with what you had... I need to check the transmission with it in neutral. . It came to me as I was typing that It had to be in neutral. .

Ditto on air bubbles. . The cooler line ouplers are both 1 year old because I blew one last spring. . I need to check the rest of it. Where would be logical seapage areas to check?

The truck kicks down, that is something else I noticed, It wants to kick down at time where it previously held gears. (mostly on acceloration from stops)

The transmission felt fine today. I'm over due on a filter and fluid change so i'll be on that as soon as I can get a b&m drainplug. After that i'll update if problems persist.

I'm sorry i'm not more transmission literate. . It's not something I deal with often.

Thanks
