Bucket seats

I just got my new (slightly used) bucket seats installed, and adjusted to a comfortable ride height. They are much more comfortable than my worn out bench seat, although the buckets use up some leg room. I had to mount them 2" above the included mounting bracket to increase leg room. I don't have an extended cab. I ordered the seat from sonnystruckseats.com. Probably the best addition to my truck so far. The burgendy color matches the interior as well.

Will newer model Dodge bucket seats work in a 92?

Yes, there have been several members that have put later model seats in a 1st gen. I just got my taxes back and will be browsing the junkyards for a '98 or '99 set of 40/20/40 Ram seats with the fold down console. Others have put in seats from Hondas & Toyotas.



It's not a direct bolt in, there is some fiddling and fabricating to be done, but it does not sound too bad. If I remember, hooking up the seats with the electricaly actuated seatbelt tensioner can be a bit of work. I think NCostello wrote a great post on how to wire that up.
