I am considering buying a buckstop front bumper. Does anyone know how much it weight. Will it be too much for my Kore recon system.

prepare to wait on it

Mine has been ordered for 7 weeks now. It's supposed to be delivered on Friday. I'll be getting my '97 out of paint and body shop (pix to follow) then take the trip to Mike at hotroddiesels.com in Texas City, Texas for the bombing.

A friend of mine had a Buckstop bumper on his truck and he said it weighs like 200lbs and his front end dropped a little. He has 10in of lift(4. 5in Skyjacker + 3in body + 2in daystars) he also has his sway bar off. I think your KORE will be fine.

I called Kore before ordering the bumper. They said the recon system would handle the 260 lb buckstop outback with no sag. Some of their past customers have installed snowplow gear up to 800lbs with no reported problems.

When I put the PACE system on my truck which I got through DRC they had two different sets of coils for my 98. They make a stiffer set of coils for bumpers and plows which is what I put on mine and they work great.

I sell both buckstop and another bumper called aluminess. The aluminess weighs about 95lbs. I love the buckstop we put on our 05 but the aluminess is a great bumper as well, and half the weight. check them out @ aluminess.com. I know he builds them for 3rd gens, but you may have to call him about 2nd gens

Buckstop + Milemarker 12K lb. hydraulic winch

Well, not a second gen, but I added a Buckstop bumper to my 3rd gen 4x4 dually and the front end didn’t drop to any extent that I could tell (though the ride is a bit smoother with a few hundred pounds more up front). The outside 4” lights run off the stock fog-light switch, and the 6” Hellas with an extra in-dash switch so I can enable them to toggle with the high-beams. (With the extra lights and the BriteBox FogZilla, the “dim headlights” problem is a distant memory—all with stock bulbs). Oo.

To fill the winch mount, I installed a MileMarker 12,000 pound hydraulic winch. They tie into the power steering pump between the hydro-boost for the brakes and the steering box (thank God for extra instructions at http://inlinediesel.com/tech/mm/index.html, the enclosed ones are incredibly sparse. Also, note that with the Buckstop you don't have to move the intercooler forward to install brackets-- that's specific to the mount in the example).

Already used it to straighten the rear hydraulic leveling-jack bracket under my Class-A RV, and the winch was actually pulling the 19,000 pound RV up an incline! (had to chock the wheels). In a nutshell, the winch seems to give every bit of its rated pull, has a 100% duty cycle—and it’s cheaper than an electric winch, to boot.

Very nice paint job

TrevorH, very nice paint job/match on the bumper! Actually, the truck's color and finish looks custom-- is it? (From the picture, it looks like a cobalt blue metallic looking from front to back at the right rear fender  ).

You'll be very pleased with the bumper. I've had mine for almost two years and its been beat on, pushed, pulled and its held up better than I could have ever hoped. And so far no bird has dented it yet.

They are really nice i've installed three of them now and they look great. If I knew how to post pictures I would. I even installed one on an 06. My one problem is what to do with the stock bumpers starting to pile up.
