Picked up my truck from the repair shop today. All I can say is that the Buckstop is one hefty bumper! I only wish I had it on before that darn deer ran into the front of my truck. To those still waiting to get theirs I feel safe in saying you will be very happy with it.

Hey, good to hear.

My set come in today but only had time to put the

rear one on. Will tackle the front one when I have

more time or some help.

I still need to yank the winch off my F-150 so it will be ready when mine gets here. I'll just use the forklift at work to hold it up when I mount it.

Had to do mine on the lawn. I put some chipboard down so I could roll the floorjack.

Found the center of gravity was near the rear part

of the receiver but it sat very well on the jack pad

and all went well . Good luck with the forklift :)

Mine is on, looks great. Quality is second to none. Instalation was pretty straight forward. I'll have pics of it soon.

I used the forklift at work. Much better than any jack!

Yea,,,, that's going to be another upgrade that has to be done. Especially since those Bambi's are all over the place!!!!

Any of you with 2500's added heavier springs to compensate for the extra weight of the Buckstop???

Springs

imrc,

I haven't but I need to. I would like it to set about 1" higher at the wheel over stock.

Whether this would call for a stiffer spring or just a longer spring, I don't know and

I also don't know , at this point, what is available.

Suggestions from others are welcome :)

I did not notice any drop in the front. If there was it couldn't have been over 1/4", but I sure can't tell there was any.

front lift

Steve,

I think there may be a difference between the 4wd and 2wd coil height and/or interchangeability, do you know? Mine is 2wd Hemi (blush). Another thing I have wondered about is does the CDT 2wd have a stronger/longer/stiffer coil than the

gasser in the 2500 pickup? Seems to me it probably should but not sure. I may

ask my dealer just for kicks.

Johnmoore,

I come up with about 5/8" at the front but this could be off a little. I should have measured the suspension bumpstop travel available before and after. I know I don't have a lot of available travel remaining after installing the Buckstop.

After doing some searching in various forums and on the web for suppliers I have

pretty much decided I will go with the 1" spacer kit sold by suspensionconnection.com.

This will give me back my suspension travel + about 1/2" over what I had with the

stock bumper. I think with that I won't have to worry about realigning the front end.

I noticed that your sig file shows Hemi Now CTD Later. Could it be that the springs aren't as stiff in a hemi?

Springs

Yes, I questioned that possible 2 posts above as it would certainly make sense.

I have not seen that discussed or confirmed/denied to this day. I'll probably end

up asking my dealer.

Edit:

Just called my dealer and talked to the service parts people. I asked if the front

suspension was the same (CTD vs hemi) and also if the coil spring was different

and if the CTD was heavier/longer/interchangeable? Well they DIDN'T KNOW.

I asked 'how do you know what parts to order?' Reply, ' we just order whatever the VIN specifies' . So i'm sorry to find out my 5* dealer is probably no better

than ones other people have been complaining about.

The hemi equipped trucks DEFINATELY have lighter springs than the diesel equipped ones. There is a significant difference in the amount of weight on the front end.

I needed one of these before that dodge neon jumped in front of my truck. Now I need a new bumper. ----might be the Buckstop
