Budd wheel lug nut torque

Anyone know how a shadetree mechanic can get these things torqued down to 425 ft-lbs WITHOUT having to blow several hunderd dollars on new tools?

Anyone have a machinery handbook... you can find a formula in there. . Use a long pipe and tighten the heck out of it. .

Use a 1" impact... you don't need a torque wrench.

You can use a 3/4" impact for Budd level torque. I once had to use a Caterpiller tool torque multiplier to get some huge u-bolts torqued. It would do up to 1200 ft-lbs. Its now on my short list of "the worlds coolest tools".
