Ok-

What are some bombing tips or 'tweaks' that I can do on a budget? Don't laugh- it took everything I could to get 'mama' to let me buy this truck. Of course I've got the 'bug' and can't leave well enough alone. I've heard mutterings of some sort of 'missing' silencer ring(?). What and where is/was it? What about a K&N air filter? Yes I'm new to this, so bear with me! Thanks, Jim. :D

do lots of reading and research... ... take everything everyone says with a grain of salt, and use your head when buying BOMB's so you know what performance gain you want.

I would go with advice from a wise old man... Ted Jannetty. Search for his thread on "Proper order of upgrades". You will be glad you did!

I read about everthing on this site for over a year before i put anything on my truck , i finally decided on the edge ez its not cheap but i think you get a lot of bang for the buck , it a good start but like Don said get some gauges on that baby, Happy Bombing.

I strongly agree that the gauges should be first but after that go get yourself an EZ and start having some fun. My 2 pennies... ... .

This might hurt, but maybe you should sell one of your toys and just BOMB the heck out of it. You'll have more fun with your BOMBed truck anyway, since you'll be able to use it everyday. :D

Ted even did separate postings for 12 and 24-valvers.

Of course I also agree with gauges first, but as far as "budget BOMBing tips"? Keep an eye on the classifieds and on posts of members upgrading to bigger power items. These guys seem to sell things cheap!

I can relate to your predicament, bought my truck last July, and wife was pissed when I told her that I needed an upgrade--I had sold her on the idea that the Cummins was best engine in the beginning, so she couldn't understand why I wanted to mess with it. eek:

Just 1 week ago I installed the EZ box, and man "What a difference" espcially in 3rd gear lock-up! Even the wife said it was a good investment. Guages will be right after valvebody massage.

I use my truck to tow with, when its not flying me to the office, so I didn't want a drag racing truck--thats what the Max Wedge is for.

You can usually pick them up new with boost elbow for $500 or so. Heck if it wasn't for this site I wouldn't even know there was an upgrade! Guess I shouldn't have looked in that Dodge Brochure. :D:
