Budget Smarty Upgrades for $2000

Hey all,



Well my truck is almost out of warranty and would like to squeeze more horsepower out of the engine. Ideally would like to run the Smarty around 5-7 which if I'm correct yields around 500 HP. For my planned budget what would be smart upgrades to do for the truck. Some of what I was looking is:

• Upgrade valve body / torque convertor the trans
  
• Phat Shaft Turbo
  
• Intercooler and bigger hoses
  
• FASS Lift Pump

Definitely upgrade the trans. Look into billet input and output shafts too.

trans first, but 2grand wont go very far for the 500hp you want.

dont even think about the intercooler... the oem flows and cools within 2 to 5% as good as the top 3 aftermarket. I would only switch the i/c if you had a crack or someting of that nature. Even then the aftermarket ones have fitment issues (especially the banks... what a pain!). Save your pennies and buy a proper built trans. I reccommend Goerand. Also you'll know when you need a lift pump. Hope that helps.
