Bugs in Texas big time

I'm a Texan and feel your pain. I have an 01 2500. I went to home Depot. Bought some heavy galvanized hardware screen about 3/16" squares I guess. I made panels that I mounted inside the grill and bumper holes Using SS. wire and small bolts with washers and lock nuts to hold in place. It worked great, doesn't look that bad and protects the internal coolers from small stones as well. The bugs are strained through the screen and don't have the same impact on the coolers as before. Clean up is easier with a car wash sprayer. Winter in Houston and summer up north in the cool. Wild Bill:D

Where I unload everyday, we have the sparrows trained to pull the bugs out of the grill. Its funny to watch them fly for the grill on my Frieghtliner before I'm even stopped.

Bug screen

I had a bug screen made for my '99 that mounts on the ranchhand bumper behind the bumper grill and in front of the truck grill. ;) Yep, there is enough room to open the truck hood without removing the bug screen. Been running the same screen for a little over 2 years now.

Works great. I had to do something with all the Texas bugs!:) :D
