Sharkey, the SS looks real good but the plastic like a Ventvisor or Autoventshade work better. Watch the little pieces above the lights they can make your mirrors vibrate. I just used the piece for the hood and the small sections off. Regards Pete

Yup, you got that right! Bug Shields are not 24-valve specific items. Since Mike Vonada is out of town, he asked me to take care of this forum.
Continue this in the Product forum. Remember, these posts are still open in the new forum after they are moved, but not on the old forum. We're going to keep "locked" posts in their old forums for a week, so people can see where they were moved to, then we'll delete them.

I have just installed the "Better Built"Hood
protector(bug shield)Stainless from Geno's.
I am completely satisfied. It looks sharp IMHO.
I have molded "bug deflectors" on a couple of the other vehicles and they probably do a little better job of keeping bugs off of windshield. . I have not noticed any mirror flutter,or less vent air. I have only driven it around 500 miles (freeway). The truck is White and it sure looks better than the plastic smoke(to me). My other option was to
put on a painted on of plastic. Glad I went with the stainless steel.

The clear plastic ones look nice when you paint the back side to match your truck. You paint the back side so the paint won't get scuffed.

I think it depends on the color of the truck. Mine are the black plastic and I think they look great on white truck, the SS looks good on black or dark truck, the black would look good on bronze I think. Just my . 02 cents worth. bg

No matter which you use, if you don't keep the debris cleared out where the deflector meets the hood, you will get body rot! I remove mine regularly to clean and wax behind it.
