What is a good bug shield that doesn't require drilling into the hood, or using tape on the hood. I'm wanting a lexan on, not the chrome ones that I've seen. Can anyone help?

The OEM one.........

Drills into the plastic grill. The way it attaches if you ever removed it the holes would be hidden until you raised the hood for the most part. Ours was on the truck when we bought it.

I have the LUND Exterminator model. It mounts in between the hood and the grill. Works very well. I'm pleased with it!

to bad you don't have an 03... i just installed the mopar one and the holes where already in the grill (on the bottom side). install time was about 3 minutes...

FWIW

I had a lexan bugshield that fit between the hood and grille on my 96 Ram. I don't think it helped with bugs at all and after removal, it had buggered up the paint on the hood and the grille wouldn't fit right anymore. No more so called bugshields on my truck.

The Mopar shield looks good, any screw holes are hard to see and has spacers to keep from damaging the paint. My only regret was that I didn't put one on sooner before rocks/sand messed up the leading edge of the hood.

I agree on the Mopar ones, but are they worth the extra money, I can get a Lund X-Terminator for $54. 00, Mopar wants $100+ for theirs, is it worth the extra $$?

The $100 price must be for the three piece shield, is the Lund also three piece? I paid $78 for the three piece but it was several years ago.

That's what I was quoted... ... when I got to the parts store to order it, they talked me into the one they had in stock, an Auto Vent Shade, not the one I wanted but looked like it would work. WRONG! Their computers don't know the difference between a 1/2 ton and a 3/4 ton 2002 truck. The deflector they sold me will only fit '02 1/2tons and '03s. I'll be back there tomorrow trying to figure it out. Now my problem is do I trust Lund. Their website tells me that the '02 1/2 ton and '02 3/4 tons have the same part number for the 3 piece X-Terminator. Do I trust it? Or do I keep searching?
