70s corvette rotor question

Anyone seen this show?

We have a a 96 buick regal wwith a 3. 8. The car would occassionlly die, but restart easily. We checked fuel pressure, it was ok, the car continued thisand eventually it got worse to the point it wont restart now. We checked the spark, and it is o. k. put a test light on the injectors, and we have no fire to the injectors. Any idea what to look for that effects the firing of the injectors? crank sensor? cam sensor? or ecm??, I m trying to check things out first rather than just swapping parts like the ecm or crank and cam sensors.

Check the oil pressure switch. This should be a two sided switch. One side for oil pressure signal. The other side is a fuel cutoff switch in case of a wreck or the engine dies.

The fuel pressure side might be bad.

I've seen funny issues due to the crank sensor, but they usually took spark out.

I'd be looking for a bad power or ground wire to the ECM.

Does it have FP when it is dead? Change out the fuel filter lately? I'd be betting the pump is shot myself.

take the ignition module to pepboys or any auto parts store that can test it and have them test it, the module serves 2 purposes, to fire the coils and to read the cam/crank sensors and signal the ecm to fire the injectors. you can also check the fuses for the ecm and injectors. if all checks ok suspect the crank sensor it has 2 pickups and if 1 fails it will cause what you expirience.

I had the same problem. My cause was a wiring harness that went under the radiator, it rubs and grounds out the ignition. Dealer knew about it said it was a common problem.
