2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission building bulletproof chassis...

I need some ideas on building a STOCK height rolling chassis with upgrades to various parts. Starting with a bare frame and working up. Should I powder coat the frame or have it line-x'd? stainless brake lines. What suspension upgrades should I consider? Aftermarket control arms? polyurethane bushings I assume? Heim joints? Any suggestions appreciated. This will be a project truck.

Basically, an Unimog is a 4wd equal size tire street legal tractor with multiple models/accessories - anywhere from firefighting, radio trucks, logging skidders, cranes etc.

For the frame, I'd suggest a powder coat. Follow that with a microcrystalline wax coating, which is used by some rustproofers. Alternate to the wax, try a MilSpec gooey tar undercoating. The idea of the wax or the undercoat is that either will ooze into rock impact chips and seal them before they can rust.

I won't be doing a lot of off roading, but figure if i'm going to have a project truck I ought to put some quality components in it.
