WOW all that hype about the high and mighty Schieds diesel power and all the knowledge to do it better then everyone else , but when it come to putting the rubber to the track at the same track in the same conditions . You can claim big power, built to to go 200 mph, built to run in the 6’s and all, but when it really matters, well

when there was a chance to run two diesel dragster side by side

“It’s not what we want to do “ DAN SCHIEDs

I have all the respect in the world for Dan, and he made a good decision, Dustin would have cleaned McFly’s clock on the line and the Diesel Drag racing power that Scott makes would have shown on the other end. And did in MPH which is an indicator of power.

But maybe McFly’s can find some one else that doesn’t know me.

I didn't see your plastic rattle trap there. . with your "MOPAR" clad crew Mr. Hogue... i personally don't think you have room to bash the 2 other teams that showed up and ran down the strip and made a full pass each time. :rolleyes: ... let alone Scheid who traveled 2100 miles each way to show the world his machine. Weatherford isn't QUITE as far as Indiana. . :{

Greg, it would be in your best intrest to get the whole story on their situation before you damn their racing program. The power is there, getting it to the ground is another story.

..

why is everyone using similar names here? ... My name is Greg too. . maybe call COMP "Whiner Greg" so we know who you are talking about :-laf Or call him "Slow Hogue" or something ;)

Now why wouldn't they want to run side by side? That would be cool..... no matter who wins- likely Dustin. And everybody was way off they're mark @ Indy due to the 130 degree track temps... ... tuning is one thing- tuning for the heat like that- that weekend is a whole nother ball game... .....

so we should look at claimed hp and not track performance as the benchmark . And the more off the mark a so called premier team is , the more power they must have hindering their quest to get down the track in a record manor. Bull Dung . I get down the track, Scott Gets down the track. We have very close to the same power. But the sled pulling big guns can't put a respectable number on the board , and the excuse is they are over powered.

Drag racing is nothing but applied physics , you can get the starting line wrong , the gear changes wrong , the converter wrong , and the MPH will still reflect the hp available in reference to the power to weight ratio

Yeah its been awhile for the BS to run wild in this dormant forum. Isn't this the first year Scheid has run their rail ? Give em time.

Hey Mr Physics, Have you put any of Eric's runs into the HP calculators? Obviously not... ... But continue on... . it is damn entertaining... ...

I was looking at the different platforms of the drag racers, and doing a little math.

Darren Morrison - 5560lbs, best MPH 124. 6 = 730. 3hp - dyno prior = 730hp.

Jeff Garmon - 5590lbs, best mph 125 = 741 - Dyno Prior = 700hp

NLDP - 6207 lbs, best mph 123 = 784

Buck - Best MPH I think is 119 - Don't know exact weight so ~6300 = 720. 9

TS Performacne - best mph 123 - weight ~ 6300 = 796hp

Matt Stuckey - best mph 123 - weight ~5800 = 732hp

Now for some fun...

Greg Hogue - ~2900 lbs - 154mph best = 720hp

Scott Bentz - ~2300lbs - 167mph best = 727hp

Keating Machine - ~3600lbs - 150 mph best = 825hp

Schied Dragster - ~2800 lbs - 162 mph best = 808hp

Now, I hear all the time about how Pro Street will be in the 9's. A high 9 second pass will require ~135mph trap speed.

5500lbs @ 135mph = ~920hp at the tires.

Just having some fun... don't take it too seriously...

Power by Garmon - to the ground by Sun Coast = 12's

if the Scheids dragster really weighs in at 2800 lbs , I would fire who ever it was that is that much of a lard butt . the real weight was in one of their post at 2500 something , which is still ridicules . still this is different kinds of power , and closer to being right then most would want to admit. I’m close to having my new piece on a real dyno , and the truth will be something eye opining as to where diesels really make power. In chassis dyno atmosphere you only get a small picture of the story . on a engine dyno it will yield a total different view of things.

You know, we are going to put the dragster on the ATS chassis dyno after the SEMA show. It will be interesting to see what gains we can make. And what the HP is.

We know we are pretty conseervative on the tune-up. For now. Time to try out the big parts.

Greg, Dunbar came up w/these factors??? What's the formula ??????

Scott... . where will you be at SEMA? I'll be there all 4 days.

We will be displaying the dragster in the ATS Diesel Performance booth. We will need to chisel off the bugs off the nose, and clean up the war wagon a bit.

Come see us!

I heard that the two diesel rails were side by side in the staging lanes too!!! Why wouldn't they want to run a side by side match?? I mean when i'm racing- I personally could care less WHO is in the other lane or what they're running for that matter- it's just me and the tree that I'm concentrating on and that's all that matters!

So where's Eric with a reply? What's the deal Eric? Was your nails still drying or somethin? ?:-laf

 Hmmmmmm..... and your rail fits on this chassis dyno huh?:p Gee that rails rear cant be any wider than let's say - The Dr. P truck? Hey Greg- care to reply? Lol. :-laf

I'm guilty of dragging up old:-{} ... .
