Today I was getting a price on having a 5" system put on my truck but the guy behind the counter said they can do on e for me but would be a lot of wasted money on my part. I fully understand this and from hearing there is no gain in having 5" compared to a 4". It turns out this shop just started carying the bully dog line, this was a big surprise since I am in canada and everything seems to be across the line (you can add 100% to any price by the time we get the product back across the border).

I have two kits available up hear now the BD sytem with the mac resonator and now the Bulley set up.

Which one would you guys go for ???????

Paul, I have the BD Power 4" exhaust and am real happy with it. Anymore (straight pipe, etc. ) would be too much for me. Great sound through out the gears and while running at highway speeds. I don't know what else to add other than see if you can check out a couple of similarly equipped trucks and pick what you like.

I also have the BD system. I am very happy with it. I have heard the Jardine system and to me it sounds good, but some members here say they don't care for it.
The post above saying you should seek out the systems and listen to them has a lot of merit!

I too like the sound of my BD catback. Al thought I think will sound better turbo back. Working on that right now. Anyways the BD I got is a chrome turn down at the tip. Was considering a tip that comes straight out. Any experiences with those 4" and 5" monster tips from Geno's.

Sly, I'm with you. The only thing that I really don't like is the turn down tip. I was also thinking a trying out a 5" straight back from Geno's.

I installed a Speed Zone Exhaust which they said comes from Bully Dog & I Love it. It fit great and came with a great looking 5" stainless tip with rolled edges.

You guys with the BD systems, Is their any droning at all?... Seems like quite a few of us are having problems with the Jardine system in relation to that... Just wundren'

I guess that depends on your definition of droning. Being that I only have a catback, the cat keeps hanging around ( gotta stop feeding it, maybe it will leave ), and still 3" up front, here is what I hear. Maybe different for the full turbo guys.

- Added a deeper exterior sound. Not loud at all. Very nice. -- Want more, going to full turbo soon. Will not go straight pipe. Too loud for me, from what I read in the other post running 4" with muffler seems to be good middle ground.

- Cant hear it inside 99% of the time. Dont hear it on freeway driving, or city driving, or hills with reasonable throttle. Is not a problem towing either.

- I have one hill close to home, small moderate grade, 35mph, third gear, no lockup, small throttle increase, about 1800rpm -- That nice deep tone seems to resonate and get louder in the truck. Needs to be this perfect combo of factors. If I add throttle, go slower/faster, etc. it goes away.

- Full turbo BD guys. Does it get worse will the full 4" turbo back?

Just remembered something. when I got my BD muffler, I was looking down the inside and saw these 3 fins/scoops ( for lack of a better description ) sticking down into the center, of what otherwise looks like a straight flow though setup. confused me on which direction to install. Called BD. Told me the right direction. Stated without those in there, or if you install it backwards you would have droning effect. Mounted properly he claimed very little droning.

Colin, how's them thar teffh of yourin ? JK, the drone that I described in past posts with the BD probably should have been called something else. Mine is HX40 back and sounds great through all the gears and at highway speeds. The "drone" I originally commented on is kinda like what it sounds when your in a 747heavy and flying level at steady knots. It's a good sound to me. Some members decribe drone as a rattle, I have NO rattle, at any rpm's. I really just took a chance, after speaking to several members with the BD and decided to try same. I have never heard the Jardine, JRE, DD or others so I have nothing to compare it to other than stacks, that a neighbor had on his 12 valve CTD. Any louder than the BD would be too much for me. But that's just me, it comes down to what sounds good to YOU and no one else. I took a big chance on the BD but I am happy with the system, other than the chrome turn down(easy fix). NOW, when are you going to put that HX35 on ??? #ad

Sly, just re-read your post, I still have to work on this #ad
Oh yeah, you can hear it in the cab under any acceleration #ad
Let me put it this way, if I drive through my lake community in the early morning hours on garbage day, for some reason I see alot of people rushing to the curb with cans in their hands ???!!!! My BD went on in the end of January. The first time this spring that I took a ride with the passenger side window down I realized why everyone stops what they are doing and gauks at my truck #ad

I decided to go ahead and order the 5" tip from Geno's. I had the turned down 4" chrome tip off tonight to clean same, still in great shape, just not my "style". Anyone interested, send an e-mail. Real cheap, I promise.
As always, forgot to add... the inside had this black soot type substance on the walls, reminded me that it's time to clean the woodstove, should I be concerned ? #ad

I have the Bully Dog 4" turbo back system. I bought it a while back when they had the group purchase going. Other that some install issues, I'm happy with it. It took me a while to figure out which hangers go where, and get everything lined up. I had to shorten one of the pipes about 6-8", and I couldn't figure out which way to put the muffler in. There was also no tailpipe hanger, I found some strap in the garage and bent one to match the original, then welded it on. One thing I really liked is the tailpipe looks stock.

In the cab, windows up, the sound is improved a bit, but not much louder. Windows down, you can really hear it when you get into it. I like the sound, nice and deep.
