CKS

What also doesn't sound right is the CKS or crankshaft position sensor was dropped for "01. Either they added it back in or could it possibly be the CPS or cam position sensor?

The 3rd gen trucks have a crank and cam sensor. The reason for the Crank sensor code is that the Bullybox plugs into the crank and cam sensors and alters the injection timing. My truck has set both of the codes mentioned above once due to me trying to lug the engine below idle while taking off from a stop. The light went back out after 3 starts and has not been back on since.

Any time a code is set it is stored in the PCM. I erased mine with the DRB and all is clear now. The PCM will no longer store the code after 255 starts with no faults.

what is DRB ???

I inquired about boxes to a couple of performance shops. They said WAIT until the new ones were out. Stated maybe a couple of months. Said a newer generation of boxes were in the works and to wait until the bugs were worked out. Any one eles heard the same thing?

DRB is short for Diagnostic Readout Box, and is what the Dodge dealer uses to perform computer diagnostics on all DC vehicles. Since I work at a dealer I have access to one anytime. :D As for waiting for the companies producing boxes for our trucks to get the bugs out, I think The Bully box is excellent just the way it is and would a heck of box to surpass its potential. As with anything else if you can wait long enough to way all of your options before buying something you can make the best choice. The hard part is being able to wait. I like many others couldn't and chose the Bully box. I don't have any regrets.

I was told that the new boxes were not just going to be rail pressure but timing etc. Was told that they were just around the corner. I inquired about buying a box and they said just to hold off for a little while and a better mouse trap was coming. That was from a Bully dealer. has anyone else gotton the same info?

DPKetchum,

There are many of us waiting until more perfected options are available. Also of concern is how the engines and fuel systems will hold up to the boxes. I'm gonna wait awhile and set back and watch the show.

From what I have heard, the Bully Dog box does vary the timing, not just pressure.

I doubt it will be long before more choices emerge. Hopefully accompanied by competitive pricing.
