I have been waiting for some reports on these new injectors being sold by Bully Bog. Has anyone installed their stage 2 or stage 3 injectors.

I plan on hauling a Backhoe could I go with the stage 3's or would it run to hot, will go to four inch exhaust if needed but plan on keeping the stock turbo since I just installed the BD exhaust brake after it!!

Any one also know if DD's injectors are compariable??

OR should I just stick with the stage 2's

Their is only a few days left on this GP and the price is seems too good to pass up.

I won't be able to tell you in time, but I got the II's on the way. I am expecting nothing but good things from them but I'll have to wait to put them in. Sorry, I couldn't put a review up sooner.

I got my Bully Dog step III today. It's going to be awhile before I can give you any reports. It need to warm up, we have a foot of snow and temperatures below freezing. I also need to put a clutch in. I will probably put the step III's in pretty soon and shut off the Hot Power Edge to save on the pump. I'll let you know when I do.

BigBob why don't you come over and you can use the heated garage. I know your truck will fit in (mine does). I think there's enought room to install injectors (and I can learn how when I do mine) #ad

I put Bullydog step II's in my dads '00. These with a VA and PS boost module are ,in my opinion, the best towing setup. No problems with egt and not much smoke. Could probably get same results using an EZ box but I haven't tried one to know. Also Bullydog's customer service is top notch. That means alot to me. I hope this helps... ... Blue

Ole Blue - What type of numbers are you seeing in your fathers truck? HP, torque, EGT?? I currently have an EZ box and am debating between DD or Bullydog Stage 1 or 2 injectors. Also, how responsive are the stage 2 injectors? I live in high altitude (5000 ft) and I want to make sure that I have enought bottom end to pull up the mountains here. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Kev

K_Arts,Bigsaint,sorry I don't have any dyno figures to give you. But I can tell you the results of our tests.
The hill I use as a testing ground would seem like a bump in the road to you guys in the real moutains, but for here its pretty steep. I start at the bottom going 40mph in hi gear then floor it,watch boost - pyro - speedo. This spot is best for sticks but I use it for autos also.
Dad's truck:'00 3500 quadcab 4x4 6spd 4. 10 Banks 4in exhaust K&N filter
As above:truck wouldn't pull hill had to down shift to 5th topped out 50mph 20psi boost 1000degrees
With VA:pulled hill in 6th topped out 55mph 22psi boost 850 degrees
With VA & PS boost mod:6th gear topped out 58mph 28psi boost 800 degrees
With VA,PS boost mod,Bullydog stepII:6th gear topped out 70mph 34psi boost 900 degrees
Pulling a 20ft bass boat:6th gear topped out 65mph 36psi boost 925degrees
This truck has all sorts of bell and whistles on it. When full of fuel it weights 8800lbs my '01 weights 7450lbs.
I hope I wasn't too long winded and this info helps... ... . Blue

Hey guys,

Here's a note of how the new injectors are performing.
I installed them (BD II's) this weekend, during the Miami game. Anyway, they went in just fine.
The performance was very noticable. So much so that I turned off the PE just to see how they run.
They run strong all they way through the power band. I did not disconnect the EZ, so my results are a little tainted as I was still able to make use of the boost module in the EZ. With the PE off, power was smooth and very usable. I am glad to say there were no EGT concerns. I put my foot on it hard and it only broke 1200 after an extended run (3 mins. WOT). And as a side benefit, smoke was kept at a minimum. If one were to use these without a timing box, I am sure there would be no significant smoke. With the PE on, watch out!!!:eek! I can slide my clutch (on bench, next project) all over the place in 3rd gear and up. Wow!
My final impression is that these injectors are a good improvement for performance. They would be a great addition for all around useage and power improvement. These are an excellent investment. Sorry, if this message seems broken and fragmented. If anyone has any questions, let me know.
I am also sorry that I am only able to use my seat 'o the pants meter, which is not calibrated to a national standard. If you guys know where I can get this calibrated let me know.
Hope this helps you guys out.

Hello everyone,

I'm a new TDR member and I sure have enjoyed my time reading about everyone's trucks and what you can do with a Cummins, but I'm lost most of the time because I don't know what the heck all the acronyms mean. Whats a PE, a EZ, a VA, a DD, and a PS? Somebody fill me in so I can keep up!! Thanks.

PE - PowerEdge Fueling Box
EZ - Edge Products Timing Box (and a lil fuel)
VA - Van Achen CPC also the BD Plug-N-Power
DD - Diesel Dynamics
PS - Practical Solutions boost module

Did you just want the initials explained or do you need to know what each individual product is???? Not sure how much info you wanted... ... .

Thanks KatDiesel

I will continue to read about all of this in the forum and what you have provided me will help a bunch. I want to gain some HP and torque on my 99 3500 QC, but I don't want too much power because I don't want to have to modify the drivetrain to accommodate it. I want about another 50 HP/100 ft lbs of torque. This will enable the truck to pull my 32ft fiver without too much strain.
I still don't know for sure which set-up to go with. Any help from you good folks would be appreciated. I'm so confused!!!!!
Thanks again.

johnwen1, the VA or the EZ will give you just about what you are looking for. From all of the info I have been able to gather they are very evenly matched for performance and price. I have tried the VA and for a 30 second install time and reasonable price it is amazing. I can only imagine what the 300+ HP trucks are like. The VA alone makes the truck much more pleasnt to drive. Go to www.vanaaken.com to look at the VA. BD sells the same box at lower cost but their site doesn't have as much info. As far as I know Edges' website is still down. Some other companies sell them and may have some info. Look in the TDR links. Good luck.

johnwen1... I'm running with the EZ box alone in my 2001 ETH. The install is easy and the power increase is great. I have no dyno numbers to back it up but the claimed 66 HP gain is really a kick in the pants. Do a search on both boxes and then make your decision, either way, you won't be disappointed.

Thanks Everyone. I apreciate the good advice. I checked the VA website and I think that is the way I'm going. The HP and torque increases is just the ticket I'm looking for. I'll let you know after I get it installed what it's like. I'm also going to install some quality guages to monitor the engine just for good measure. Thanks again.

Find someone close who has a BOMBed truck and see if they'll take you for a spin. Then decide what you want to do. If you get up this way, I'll gladly take you for a spin.
