I personally have not used bully dog injectors so I don't know much about them... but you can't go wrong using DD injectors. They are top notch... exactly like their Customer Service!!!

injectors

ZSTROKEN:

It depends on what you are going to do with the truck... . If you are going to be towing primarily at your present power level, then the DD stages 2's are the way to go. They will not smoke too much and egt's are very comfortable. If all you care about is everyday power and your are going to connect the pump wire, then I would go with stage 3's. But, you may have to get at least a PDR hx35 turbo to keep the egt's in check. More due to the higher power settings of the box, not just the injectors,

JMHO,

Good luck and have fun. . The bombing virus is worse than a drug addiction!! And by the way, when you finally do hook up the pump wire and turn the box up, HANG ON:--)

Cheers, Bill

Bully Dog, Diesel Dynamics, ATS (what I run) are all great injectors

and do what they say there supposed to do.

So depending on what power level you want, and how much money you want to spend is probably going to be a factor.

I have had a couple sets of different DD injectors. ZERO complaints, and MHO is less smoke than the others I have seen with comparable power levels.

A comprehensive dyno test of the different brands has not been done (at least not for public information) so you are going to have to talk to them all and make your decision on the info the companies provide.

VERY few guys that are not after HP as their primary goal have had more than a few sets, and even fewer have had them from different companies. There is not much if any comparative info of value out there.

LSMITH is right. You probably aren't going to find many people who have tested many different injector manufacturers and models, and even if you did, results and opinions would not be objective, anyway.

I have only owned one set of injectors: DDII's. While I can't give you any comparative data, I can tell you that I have been 100% satisfied with them. I don't tow anything heavy, so I couldn't make any recommendations on their towing ability. You would not be disappointed.

DD inj.

I have DD-3's a DD Drag Ufm, And tow a 35' prowler reg.

and don't have any touble , i keep the box on 3 and watch temps. (still have stock turbo) I LOVE EM' Just read all the info and You can't go wrong with either company. JMHO

I had Bully Dog step 3's, now have step 5's, both are great injectors. Depends on what you are going to use the truck for and how much tolerance for black smoke you have. I wouldn't go beyond step 2 ( 3 at the very most) if you tow heavy alot.

I have DD3's and love em. Like the guys above have said... if your going to town stay with 2's or below.

Proram - I can not belive you can tow with DD3's and Drag UFM on 3 with a stock turbo. You need to get that EGT guage checked pronto. I have the same injectors an Edge Drag Comp with an PDRHX40 and can still hit 1300 with the box on 3 towing a 2000lb snowmachine tralier. What size thermocouple do you have... if you have a fat 1/4 inch tc its possible that you are not seeing the actual temps...

JR2

JR2, while you are on the subject of thermocouple size i have a 1/4 inch probe and i know i am not seeing high enough temps. what size is the hole in the exhaust manifold for an 1/8 inch probe and can i buy a probe that will work with an automer phantom egt guage?

jeep you have 2 choices

either get a 1/4 to 1/8" npt reducers or you can buy a ss compression fitting that is 1/4-1/8"

very simple modification

INJ.

JR2, I have the 1/8" thermocouple, And I am VERY confident the gauge is ok. I pull 8500k w/ a 5 spd and 410s and it rarly goes above 1100 Deg on 3 if i bump it to 5/5 i can peg the gauge.

I will be putting an PDR hx40 on soon. At the risk of sounding

rude maybe you need to ck your gauge. Mine is Pre turbo,(like it should be) Also DD runs a Diff timing and fuel program than Edge,

(not as harsh of timing) IE. doesn't heat up as much.

DD Rules!!!! Proram

zstroken--DD or Bullydog injectors --either one will serve you right--I've used both and am running with Bullydog stage 8's right now--mucho smoke--like stated before-if you don't want a lot of smoke don't go above the 3's-you get a little more HP out of Bullydog's injectors and they're cheaper---chris
