9 minutes, 90 horsepower

I put about 250 miles on my truck today with the performance program loaded. EGT's were a little lower than stock, load and speed being equal. I did shift down to 5th and mashed the go pedal at 7500' above sea leval and the EGT's roared right up to 1350 before I let off. Down around 4000 feet the temp went up slower. During normal driving and some fast spurts EGTs were no problem at all.

On one of my acceleration bursts I saw 26 PSI of boost. I don't know how high it will go because I caught up with a group of traffic and had to let off. I had to stay in the pedal with intent to get the boost over the stock 21-22PSI I normaly see.

Initial impressions are that fuel economy will be better vs stock as well, given same speed and load. As time goes buy I'll post milage results. After the newness wears off and the right foot stops seeking the firewall.

I though my truck ran good stock. The truck is fast (at least to me) now. Pulls hard at freeway speeds in 6th gear and really gets if downshifted to 5th. The power comes on smooth and fast. Idle is normal. The injector ping/knock during acceleration seems to be reduced

Not a bit of trouble downloading, way too easy. I had heard reports of ABS and brake light staying on through 4 start/warmup cycles but mine didn't do that. . no lights. I have a late 305/555 with Scotty, Banks exhaust, & Westach combo gauge.

I just thought I'd give my first impressions, although not very eloquently. Did I say that this thing rocks! :D

I'll be trying the extreme setting pretty quick too. Now, to find a turbo upgrade... ... ... .....

 46PSI, Smokes the duallys, slams the pyro and slips the clutch. Totally insane. Not what I need for my dually but damn, insane is truly insane. If you can control your foot then you could run insane but I don't think the turbo is going to last very long at all this way, it really complains when you take your foot of it quickly, this is just asking for a broken turbo shaft. But this feels like 450 ponies.

Top rail pressure was about 23ksi, so other than Turbo and transmission abuse, this seems much better than pressure boxes and external pressure/timing mods.

Tow program is cooler than stock, and performance program when driven normally is the same as stock. I could hit 1350+ stock so peak temps are irrelevent. On Insane with the Outlook defueling at 1450, I peaked at 1556 almost 15 seconds and 85+mph into it so I quit. The Outlook had dropped to 0% but it was still accelerating hard.

Then I had to talk my way out of a ticket from the Sherrif tonight with my wife on board too, just got a warning, sure was fun. Hows that line go, " lets face it, I'm older and got more insurance".

Then I put it back on Performance Program and turned down the Outlook. I'll be towing with it this weekend at max or a little over, this should be good. I'm seeing 36PSI on Performance mode, and it is very quick.

As for the little Outlook, why did I not get this before???

Interesting note, every time I load the Performance program, but not Tow or Insane, I get MIL and two codes, BEFORE I start the truck, 0602 ECM Not Programmed and 0237 Low Boost??? The codes do clear and don't come back, and the SKIM code is lost, 0633 on all programs.

Anyone want to buy an EZ1000D??, I don't need it. :-laf

Have TST on my 04. 5, adding Predator stage 2 (85hp) in a day or so. Got that off ebay for $227, seen one go tonight for $188. Just won my ebay Bullydog Downloader for $415. 00. Will be adding that next week when I get it in the mail. Triple chipped... . just like the D-Max boys, next step... , maybe two fueling boxes stacked, and a set of injectors? My ride is stock for now, with the exception of an Airaid intake. Next week going out the side with the exauhst, just behind the rr passenger door. Gotta catch up to Chevy.

DieselDan, doesn't that sound like the Outlook isn't really defueling: over 100 degrees above the defuel setting and still accelerating?

HMM, triple chipped on a stock charger? woah

I am doing the side exit exhaust too, and I thought i'd let you know how to make it a bit better:

Use the 2004. 5+ cast elbow and then buy the 04. 5-05 downpipe at your local dodge dealer ($60. 00) and then go buy the 5 inch extension pipe from bigexhaust.com -- and then buy a turnout from a OTR truck shop... what do you think?

By the way, I hacked off my exhaust from about 2 foot forward from the rear axle and I ran out of time this morning, So i am driving it like that for a day or two... let me tell ya, like a dumptruck, hahahaha :D :D

Jim - Dieselman, me, said that. Anyway, yes it does/did/do defuel. The effect of defueling is not pulling the plug but a ramping back of the fueling rate. Each step down makes the engine feel flat and is very definite.

I set the warning level on 1250, when I hit 1250 it drops to 75%, when it hits about 1300-1350 it drops to 50%, when It hits 1325-1375 it drops to 25% and as it passes 1375 it drops to 0%, but it is still fueling, it just feels flat and, well stock. Get off the go peddle and it ramps back up after dropping below the warning level.

There is a definite flat spot mid-way through on the perfromance setting but otherwise it is very smooth in power delivery from 1400 - 3400RPM.

I just towed 10K into town 20 miles. If you want to tow on performance program, you need to set the warning level at 1200-1250 to keep from hitting 1400, and running 65 at 18,000 GCW at 7200' MSL I was indicating 950-1150 temps.

So far the PPup and Outlook is a really nice combination.

Anyone know what a code 0069 is? I also get this code when I download. Yeah, yeah, no wise cracks on the 69.
