I can't tell you what it does on the 90 hp setting, because I only dyno'ed on the 130 setting, but my truck went from 259/474 stock, to 374/745. At the time, that was with a stock transmission, stock turbo, straight pipe, and AFE filter. :D

Jim

how much rail pressure does the power pup deliver on the lower hp settings? what are the rail pressures when the crazzy larry setting is on?

There is no rail pressure increase on the lowest setting, and I think there is only a slight increase on the middle setting. As far as the CL setting, I don't know, since I can't use it on my truck, anyway. But I think it's a pretty good amount. I also have one of the older boxes, and haven't had the software upgraded, so I don't know what has changed. Probably best to talk to BullyDog.

Here's a nice little chart from XtremeDiesel.com . Looks like they must have dyno'ed on the various settings:

You found what I was trying to post earlier...

For SO/HO trucks:

Tow 66 95

Performance 94 106

Extreme 113 135

For 600/610 trucks

Tow 54 103

Performance 78 149

Extreme 140 209

Us guys with the older trucks really don't get our money's worth. I've complained to Bully Dog several times about the pathetic numbers for the older trucks but they won't do anything about it. These numbers are straight from Bully Dog. Another issue with mine is that you simply cannot differentiate between power levels without being on a dyno. Tow runs just as strong as extreme. My standard Quad box along with my Ramifier plain spanked the BDDL in terms of performance. The power levels were easy to differentiate as well.

To make matters worse, their original downloaders had much stronger programs for the '03-'04 trucks. I asked them if I could send in my T-dog to get the old programs loaded, and they told me they're different programming languages. No go.

The only way to get a good downloader is to get the original downloader (if you can find one) but you don't get the additional benefits of the multi-brand use (as if I care) and some of the new features (most of which are useless on an '03-'04 anyway). Should you have a problem with the older downloader and send it in for service, you'll get it back with the milder program.

So basically I'm over the Triple Dog until they come out with something better, but I've been repeatedly told they will not make a Crazy Larry for the older trucks.

Time for me to get a Smarty (when it finally comes out).

Ya, the Extreme numbers are where you certainly see the difference between the 305/555's and the 325/600's. The dramatic difference in torque was surprising to me.

Interesting about not being able to tell the difference between level's on the BDDL.

Is the Ramifier a timing/duration only box?

Karl

The Ramifier/MP-8 is primarily a pressure box, but they also do some tricky boost fooling to get the ECM to produce a good amount of timing advance. It is a great pressure box with in-cab adjustability. I really like how well this box runs by itself.

Stack it with the BDDL on tow and it's plain stupid. Grins ear to ear. Huge plumes of smoke, too, if you're into that kind of thing.

The Quad box alone is a great box, too. They (at least on the older models) use the datalink to coax the ECM into more timing. They claim to use only 26kpsi max pressure. I have not verified this with a rail gauge.

Both of these boxes performed better for me than the BDDL. I also like the fact that they're removable from the truck without a trace. The downloader will leave tracks.

I too have an early power pup. I can most definitely tell a difference between settings. I think my version is 1. 10. I was running it on performance until I got the injectors. Now I have it off because the clutch would slip on even the tow setting. The extreme was downright insane. I never tried the extreme with the injectors. I could pull my fuel pressure to zero on the performance and tow settings.

Don't send it in for an upgrade! You've got one of the good ones...

Was that after the injectors?

Yes, after the injectors I can hit zero on tow and pin it on zero on performance. Without the injectors I could come close to zero on extreme only.

Matt, do you happen to remember how the pressures looked when on tow or performance before the injectors? Basically, was there any negative change or impact on pressure?

The tow setting pulled the gauge down a bit from the 7. 5 psi at idle. Maybe around 5 psi. The performance setting was maybe down to 3 psi or so on a bonzai run. On extreme I could get the gauge to around 1 psi or so at the shift point on a bonzai run.
