I am wondering when you download one of the programmes, does the pup copy the computer of does it have its own version.

I had my truck flashed for white smoke and poor fuel economy, and since I know the tech he check the computer to see if it took. Yes the new flash worked.

I then purchased the power pup and installed the tow package on the truck. I drove the truck for a month and then put the truck back to stock. I went back the the dealer to see if the flash was still there. The flash was gone and the tech had to re-flash the computer again.

What should I do because I like the power pup, but I also want it keep the flash.

How do I get the update from BullyDog?

muddymess,

I have a power pup purchased in October. Obviously it wiped out my mileage flash. Do I have to send it in to get it updated, and will it include all their latest features? Just returned from over 2K miles and averaged about 13 empty driving between 65-70mph. Also, I have the 0602 error when returned to stock, been that way for about 6 weeks, won't go away.

the later pups have this flash in the program. contact bdog and they will update the dl'er for ya

I have a pup on order, should be here by Thurs Jan 6th. I haven't had the -037 reflash. If I run a new prog and return to stock it will it load the -037 reflash? That would save me a trip to the dealer since my local dealer is a flake.

robert, send it in and it will be returned with the latest program update

doug, the new box should have the update unless it has been in somebodys stock for a while. since these pups are sellin like hotcakes i doubt that be the case. yep,,,no need to go to your flaky dlr for the flash since the pup will install the mpg flash

have fun with the new found power :)

Sweet! Got it from Dunk's Performance, drop shipping from Bully cause Dunk's out of stock, like everyone else.

Now if it stops raining I'll get my pyro hooked up, Oo.

13 is very low mpg. What were you getting before the PUP? First post on the 0602 with the PUP? Doc

Doc, I was running about 12. 5 - 13. 3 prior to the flash. Had the flash done 09/25 and the mileage went up to 15+ hand calc'ed for the same daily route. I installed the Pup, loved the power, but thought I heard more "injector" noise, so I put the stock program back in anticipating a trip to the dealer. P0602 ever since. Talked to the tech guy and an engineer at Bullydog and they said it should go away after a few weeks. It never has. Called again, and was told to unhook neg battery cables for a few hours and that would do it. I can clear it with the dl'er, but it comes back during the first drive. The power is nice, but if I could go back, I might never have done it... ... Live and learn, just my opinion.

I should also mention that I have now over 15K miles on the truck, and have never seen an increase, except with the reflash.

Thanks muddy, I will send the dl'er in this coming week.

Yah the bullydog powerpup's are selling like hotcakes all of mine are still on backorder I am not too worried though at least all the ones I am shipping out will have all the updates still waiting on outlook's as well

Just got mine today and found a little time to factory reflash in the driveway.

Not only does it have the -037 reflash but it also has the high idle function.

I think tomorrow I'll load up setting #2, :D

Had my Pup Reflashed

I did send my dl'er in last week like muddymess said, they had it turned around the day they got it... ... Thanks muddymess. I put the stock program in and it definately re-installed the mileage flash. One thing I did notice, when the first screen on the downloader comes up, it used to say version 1. 0, this one says version 1. 4. Didn't enable the manual high idle though. I haven't tried any of the other settings yet. I do still have the P0602 error though... . Robert

I installed setting #2 (towing) today and all I have to say is;

WOW!!!

If that's just the towing setting what's the others like.

The performance is completely different than stock. Now I haven't hooked my pyro up yet so I'm taking it easy and not messing around with stabbing the throttle but this thing launches so much harder from a stop now.

I have no idea what differences the proggie made but I'd be assuming the convertor is progressively engaging to multiply the torque to the wheels and shift points are altered. Maybe it's just the convertor that makes it seem like the shifts points have changed.

With hardly any throttle I need to be careful, very impressive.

Now I need to get off my lazy butt and install the pyro so I could play with the other settings.

Oo. Oo. Oo.
