what is the recommendation here.

I have an 06 cummins 6sp

The Edge Juice w/monitor or the Bullydog triple dog w/monitor

The other idea is the smarty cr but i would like to have a set a gauges.

any comments will help thanks.

Smarty. I have heard a lot of BDDL guys are switching to the Smarty after trying it out. Find someone near you that is willing to let you try it and give it a shot.

You can keep your warranty in tact with the Edge or the Smarty - not sure about Bully Dog. The 06 Edge has DTC reading capability and it will also clear codes along with the turbo cool down timer which is really nice. Gotta weigh the pros and cons of having gauges with the monitor or getting the Smarty and installing gauges.

i though DC could see if something (edge) was installed even if it was removed????

About the smarty... just not so sure it is as great as everyone is saying. Sure it makes great power, but do you really want to spend 5 minutes inbetween downloads. No thanks. I had Edge with no problems, and switched to Bullydog with no problems. I think smarty is great for track guys or guys who have built trucks... but if your an everyday'er with a stock transmission... . I would say so with the BDDL or Edge.

I had the Edge and it was OK. I went to the Triple Dog just to try it,and I like so much I am going to keep it!

It gives me everything from track,to towing to street and a little more fuel milage.

PLUS it did not erase the key cycles, and it is easy to unistall... . #ad

I agree. I got the smarty thinking it would be great for a pretty stock truck and i lost second gear, it doesn't shift into second at all. I know have the Smarty just sitting on the mantle collecting dust like a wall mount. Until I gbuilt transmission I cannot run the Smarty and am leaning to going to the BDDL. I may be talked into letting the Smarty go for a good price.

I've got the edge and I've been pretty happy with it. I've got nothing to compare it to but here's my observation. I've seen almost no one having problems with the edge and a handful that have had problems with the BDDL.

I'll second that as I don't have a box on the truck right now but after reading tons of posts on how well the Edge box works, I think I am sold on it. Just need to get out driving and get the truck a little more broke in before I put some more power to it. Just my $0. 02.
