hmmm scary larry, eh? Where are yal getting the scary larry program from? how much does it run? how likely is it to destroy a PCM? I have the PPE Hot and I hate it. before I attempted to install the PPE I had slight power over stock now since trying the PPE I have as much horsepower as the starter can provide. I wanted something that would raise RPM's over stock so thats why I bought the PPE over the smarty. who can I contact for more info on the scary larry? how many people out there are able to obtain the scary larry? why are they so shy about the scary larry? I forget what this thread originated as but if it wasn't about the scarry larry program somebody start a thread for scary larrry.

Scary Larry can be bought from Xtreme Truck 269-278-3906 or HTS Transmission 616-897-6237. HTS may no longer be handling this download however,... I think I read that. I bought mine from HTS.



Xtreme is the Keeper of the Program. I belive the guy who I was told to talk with was Nathan,... not real sure about that.



They will tell you it will work on the 04. 5. It may and they may be right. It didn't work on mine worth a c... p! That was however probably my own fault as I messed with tooooooo many downloaders and I feel they started picking up with residual junk left in my ECM so then none of them worked well. I just had mine reflashed and it was a world of difference and I loaded SMARTY on it as it is the best I've found for all around performance and driveability.



For KILL mode however, from what I know about the Scarry Larry,... then it is probably the man,. . for right now. It will cost you $50 if you have a Triple Dog already. Only the Triple Dog will it work on, fyi. From the numbers posted on TDR/DTR then Scarry Larry has to be around a 100hp more than anything else. You absolutely must be billet throughout on an auto however and you'll need an upgraded turbo and probably head bolts. You play you pay,... right.



Reader's Digest Version,... IMHO you can't mix this or other downloaders with the SMARTY. For myself that is why I'm buying another ECM for everything else for when I want to use it for drags or events. These downloaders WILL corrupt each other to a degree. The purer you can keep it the better your truck will run or have the ability to get the truck reflashed b-4 you load another loader,... especially a SMARTY. That does not mean there is a problem with the SMARTY,... it means it is MORE sophisticated than all the others and it does not play well with others. These are my opinions based on what I have seen on my own truck. So you can learn my other's mistakes or make them yourself. Enjoy.

So now who has got it? Does that mean its gone forever? or could it be recovered off a truck running the scary larry then pic through the program that came off the truck and make sure there are no problems with it before selling it again. I must know where to get it and more info. Im ready to spend the money to be competitive for the season.



I plan on very soon pulling the trans as my parts inventory is almost ready. I only have the billet input, Torque converter, flexplate, valvebody (plus), heavy duty clutches and bands, and a cooler with fan. Do I really need to buy the billet intermediate and output shaft? right now I am stocking up on the parts and waiting for a warm day to start bolting on power out in the driveway.

Don't bother asking where I live cuz my house is the house for the 3rd gen diesel guys to rob right now. Its a good thing I have 2 extra bedrooms and a garage my truck wont fit in (DRW and really long)

Question: When updating a triple dog online, when you plug the Triple Dog into the port on the computer, can you hit the install button and load the program to the computer?

I've never had my BDTD flashed. Xtreme Truck did my Scary Larry you turned me onto. Unless someone fiures out how to copy that program then it's gone according to Nathan at Xtreme. Do any of your College Station Geeksters know how to do it?? :-laf

I saw a guy in Redding CA with a beta scary larry last summer and first pass down the 1/4 mile with that program snapped the transmission and I think it was full billet

yea that was DieselNut that messed up his suncoast valve body i believe..... he has an 06... and that was a beta version. the rest of us are running the scary larry program on 05's... its somwhat different.

Geeksters?!? that ain't me. I couldn't even figure out how to update a smarty. and then second time i did it, i still had to call WUnderwood for help.



like i said, can i hit install when its plugged into my computer and load that program into my computer? EDIT: yea it don't work.



How can i suck the program out of the Triple Dog? when i tried loading a program from the triple dog to my computer, it called for "turn ignition key to on"... . so yea cant do that. any ideas?!
