Bully Dog's PMT

Is anybody running this box? any problems? what kind of power gains have you seen personally? It's a new product but sounds like a good one haven't had very good luck with Bdogs products in the past but still willing to give them another try. WHAT DO YOU THINK????

I have the PMT on my mega and I think it was a waiste of money. I put it on about a weak ago and Im going to take it back. I plan to put my edge back on the truck. The shop that I bought it from is going to refund my money since I didnt like it. EGTs high and my temp was 210-235. PMT monitor was not worth it. My budy melted 2 pistons on level 3 with his smarty after 8 mths so I wont try that. Edge gave me no problems.

That's funny I haven't heard of any other Smarty's melting pistons, I run mine on 9 and have for months now... All my frends use them now too. We love em'

yeah what was your buddy doing to melt pistons on only level three?

I cant figure out what he did. He is now trying to find out if the old bully dog program did not remove from the ecm. The diesel shop that has it torn down wont sell smarty, claims it is to new of a product and they expect to see more problems like he has. 6 and 1 had holes in the piston and 6 was the worst. I have also seen a 06 that had a smarty and a tst both at max melt down the same way. That one is at truck source diesel in our town. They are a smarty dealer. Look them up on the web and call and ask them about it. Im not bashing smarty, I tried to get one for my 03 but it wouldnt install. I was only wanting it for the smoke show like the 50 or so high school kids around my house that have parents with unlimited funds. It is the hot new trend around my area to go and by your kidd a $50,000 Mega and add a lift new tires and last a Smarty for smoke. As my 11 year old will say "Dad look at all that cool smoke". Well she is going to get the 03 and it will have to have smoke for her to drive it.

I find it hard to believe you can melt pistons unless you're ignoring the EGT gauge. Perhaps your buddy ran without one? He's on his own, and it's his fault.



These trucks run hot enough stock!



BTW- The Smarty on my '03 rocked! Definitely the best power-adder I've tried. The dyno proved to me that Smarty's ratings are conservative. I ran my Smarty stacked with a TST and MP-8 with the necessary supporting mods. 500+ rwhp daily driver.



The Bully Dog Triple Dog didn't even make 66hp on extreme.



Can't wait to get one for my '07!
