I just recieved my Power Pup and 8 min later I've got the performance program running. Runs great! Highest EGT I saw running flat out uphill was 1150 degrees preturbo. I can't tell about smoke yet because it is dark already here in Virginia. Power ... . above a EDGE EZ and below the TST at 9/9. I'm sure the "insane" program will be up there with the TST. I'll try the tow program next time I tow the 30' Jayco. The only complaint I have so far is that the BRAKE and the ABS light stay on. I did the DTC and I cleared the one programming error and the lights still stay on. I've cycled the key probably 8 times so far. Oh well. Thanks to Wes for the great service on the group buy!

Oh one more thing. Overhead computer says I'm getting 76. 5 MPG :) Gotta love the extra fuel mileage too!

Interesting. Very promising EGT info. The brown truck didnt stop at my hose today, kinda bummed :{ Maybe tomorrow.

my ohead readout isnt distorted too much. about 1. 5 mpg at most. cant figger the 76 mpg reading  never heard of that happening

manganos,,,,,,,,,brke and abs lite shld go out after 'starting' the engine 4 times. these lights only stay on when going from stock to one of the performance programs and not when ya change from tow to insane, for example. these lites only stay on with the 03 rigs and not 04 or 04. 5.

played w/ insane mode today and tonight fueled up after a run where i had compared mpg ,,previous time driving with my previous pressure box conected but on off position. this time w/ insane prgm. fueled up and got 18. 6 on this run. identicle rte before gave me18. 4. pushin 10,000 lbs gvw. close figgers but this time i got on it a couple times. cldnt resist :D

OkOk I've heard alot about this pup. . How does it run compared to the ez?? tst?? Why is it cheaper than the bully box which adds only 90 hp max?? :) This thing sounds like a pretty sweet deal. . The abs and brake light, will they go off after a few starts on my 03 555?? TIA Wesley Oo.

abs and brke lite will go off after 4 starts or it will go off after one start if ya drive it quite a while. 03 555 ho's and 03 so's are only ones that display the lites for a period of time

stomps the ez and the 90hp bullydog pressure box big time. i aint driven a tst equipped rig to compare

is a good deal money wise too. dunno why it is cheaper but am glad it is

Some long comments...

On mine, I have the P0633, Skim Code not Programmed, who cares, But I keep getting some other codes after changing programs. P0602 which is programming error, though its correct and the code clears, and I have gotten codes that make me think the connectors to the Outlook are iffy, and I ahve re-seated these too. Codes P0069 MAP Pressure Correlation, and P0237 when I loaded the insane level.

Yesterday, I pulled onto the highway and it felt really flat, boost ok, fuel pressure ok, MIL light on. Check of the codes indicated P0229 and P0299, TPS sensor and Low Turbo Boost. Cycled the key and all was well. Codes cleared and after another 250 miles, nothing wrong. Did I start the truck with my foot on the pedal??

This afternoon on the Outlook I adjusted the tire size, which changes the units internal time and distance calcs for HP/TQ but not the trucks speedo, the outlook and speedo now agree, on the Performance setting and flat out standing on it, it indicated 336 HP Peak.

This tells me the Outlook is using Weight / (ET/5. 825) cubed. What Weight does it assume, does anyone know if the weight assumption is adjustable? Looks to be 7500 pounds give or take.

Muddymess, using this basic math from your last post 10,000 pounds in 18. 6 is only getting about 315HP to the ground, about 375 at the flywheel?? My Outlook indicates 16. 4 and 16. 6 seconds today, and the speed matches the GPS. Stock I'm doing good to get 17. 6 and 18. 1. Do you know anything about adjusting the calculation assumptions on the Outlook?

On Temps, Tow is cooler than Stock, Performance, when run the same, is about the same temps as stock, and insane is insane, the turbo really protests. I easily hit 1450+ on the Performance program.

dm,,,,,,,,,,,,im sorry for not making my post clear but the 18. 6 was a mpg figure. i have yet to do a timed run with it.

i have a lot to learn about the outloook and look forward to reading posts on it as i will soon be ordering one

Muddymess - That makes more sense, thats also good mileage, I'm averaging 16. 5 so far. I kind of thought from your location that you spend plenty of time at BullyDog and would have an Outlook already.

I like it, though its cheaply constructed, it works well.

Vagabond, no, I haven't had the flash for Mileage, but much of the code appears to be overwritten by the Downloader anyway.

Ok a few more questions. . What does this programmer do to achieve HP/TQ?? duration?Pulse?fuel pressure?timing? Has anyone stacked this with their EZ??? Has any one dynoed to see what the real HP/TQ gains are?? TIA Wesley Oo.

dm,,,,,,,,,,,im quite a few miles from aberdeen. they are on east side of state im on west but i visit when i can and they come out here and attend most of our club events. a nice group of guys,,,,,,,,,,,and gals.

im scraping together some cash for the outlook soon. will be an awesome toool to have with my pup for the adjustability and features. even though i hve guages i like a backup and the defueling feature will be neat and other features be fun.

wp,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,this progrmer, on the 50hp tow mode adds timing and duration to make the gain. no prssre. on 90 hp performance setting it adds 30hp worth of pressure and an aditional 10hp worth of duration on top of what it adds in the tow mode. then on the insane mode it adds another 20hp worth of pressure over the perf mode and another 20 or so hp worth of duration over the perf mode. these amounts i listed are an approximate as many have made more hp than this on the dyno

50 hp total is very safe rail pressure and all these in moderation work well together in adding safe power and keeping egt cool as you can see by the reports of folks egt readings.

stacking with a pressure box like the ez is possible and has been done but i wont as i like the safe moderate rail pressures given by the pup alone but it wld be ok to stack on occasion just to play. keep in mind that those who have stacked a 70hp ez with the pup didnt get a full 70 hp of additional power. running a high railpressure for long periods, say 90 to 110 hp worth can cause bad things to happen the valve in the rail and even possibly the injectors, so moderation is a good thing. if ya have an ez and insist on stacking it i would only do it once in a while. imo if ya need more than the power the pup gives ya add injectors to the pup and keep safe power.

hopefully i will have dyno numbers tonite Oo.

Thank you DIESELMAN. Still looking for someone that has used this on their 04. 5 after the milage flash and would like to know if there is any problem going back to sguare one for a dealer visit. Also saw mentioned the overhead computer was way off after loading the program Thank you for any Info. I have one on order.

Well, guys I did it. I stacked the Pup with the TST. I am not very impressed yet. Something is not working together right. It runs awesome with the Pup on the extreme setting and the TST up to 3-3, but anything over that and it seems like it is running out of fuel. The motor starts popping like it is losing rail pressure and smoke clears up. I can tell you this much. The Pup with the Killer B works very nice. Boost pressure is about 38-39 WOT and EGT's didn't go over 1200* at WOT

Well, the big brown truck showed today... ... . :) Im headed out to download now. I think i will try the Perf. program first, see how the RAMifier and the BDOG play together  Ill let ya know... ... ... ... Oo.

The Pup showed up today, $415 off ebay. Going out right now to stack with 85 hp Predator and TST on my 04. 5 600. Will let ya know.

I have no doubt that this combo will lay down big HP, BUT if people with JUST the TST box need twins to cool it on 9/9 ... what the use of running all these boxes with a stock charger??

Isn't it like running the TST on 3/3 but have the other box on kill, why not just put the TST box on 7/7, or 8/8, and save the money

I guess i am just wondering how much programming can you do to the CR cummins before it says "no more!!"

Ok an update

Update. Started the truck this morning and went . 50 miles. Both the BRAKE and ABS lights went off. They never came back. The overhead computer settled down to 19. x mpg. I still have the performance download loaded. I don't know too much about this stuff yet but if my EGT's are in check. Under 1150 WOT uphill. Why would I need to upgrade the turbo? I thought the only real reason to upgrade the turbo was to reduce elevated EGT's. !? Performance wise. My co-worked has his big bad hemi 1500 and he says he will spank my oil burner. We have previously played around and he couldn't pull on me nor could I really pull on him. Well we played around a little today on the way home from work. He pulled up on my bumper and held up three fingers. Then he flashed his high beams once, twice, the third time we nailed it. I pulled ever-so-slightly from 50mph. Looking in the rear view I noticed the large amount of grey/black smoke and the sight of the all mighty hemispherical heads falling back quicker and quicker. 85 MPH came on quick and he was 8 more truck lengths behind me. I know he was on it still because once I layed off the throttle he came up on my fast. I can't wait to see if he wants to loose some actual money tomorrow :-laf THUMBS UP FOR THIS BULLYDOG DOWNLOADER. If you are reading this and aren't sure if this is for you. Just buy the darn thing. You will thank me later!
