OK... I need step by steps details on what to do. I have an edge ez currently on secret level 5, AFE intake, and 4"MBRP exhaust. I unplug the edge and then what? are you telling me that i will have the edge power and also the bullydog power?? And I want to be sure that the high idle TSB won't be erased if I use the bullydog! I am getting a chubby thinking about this Oo. :--) :D :-laf ;) :) :p

I am sorry guys, but I must either have a bad box or some of you are nuts. You all keep comparing this to a TST box, some even said it was more powerful than there TST. There is a big difference between these. I mean night and day difference. I have taken two different TDR members for rides in my truck. One was Bandit1 from the 12V forum. He can even tell you. My truck is nowhere near as powerful as with the TST box. I also found mine has a funny flat spot in the throttle. I was out running today and got so tired of it, I took the program off. I started running the TST again and I am much happier with it.

I might have to try what others have suggested and take my TST box off totally and try to load the program in

You're the third person that I've heard say that. Just the first on the open forums. I'll stick with what I've got for now. :D

Well, I won't mention who I got it from, but he gave me a good deal on it if I agreed to get him some dyno numbers. I made a best of 448 HP with the TST box on level 8-8. The truck was 236 stock. So that is a gain of 212 HP with my current set up, TST only. I seriously doubt I will see that number when I dyno it within the next week. I will post the results when I get them.

I am not trying to slam the bullydog downloader. It does have a lot of features I like. Those being the PTO high idler and the DTC checker. But it is far from being what the TST is when it comes to power.

I had the same experance with the D/L as you, did you try removing the tst box and then loading the D/L program if so was it any diferent

I do not see a boost elbow with ther kit. Where do you buy one of these anyway?

TST has it all for the 555 and the 600. I just put the wastegate kit from TST on my 600. TST said it opens at about 30 psi. I would say if you don't want to chance sucking shrapnel into the motor, then 30 to 35 is all I would go.

Anybody out there blow up a turbo on a 600 yet?

I just dynoed 264 stock... well 5" straight pipe exhaust. You can knoock about 30hp off your 212.

My truck has been easily hitting 1600 degrees EGT on extreme. So I have decided to switch back to Performance. Will be checking the EGT to see how it is. The pyro is mounted pre turbo. I do not like seeing high EGT :(

I would hit that with my Dmax on a hard run. Just don't keep it there for more than 15 seconds or so. That's exhaust heat... takes a bit longer for the parts to warm to those temps.

Can anyone agree on that??

EXACTLY, I noted that same flat spot. It happens when your taking off sort of easy, engine revs up a little, then seems like it defuels. You gotta hit the go pedal, starts taking off again, then I can shift.

It doesn't appear to happen all the time, but I only drove it around for 30 miles yesterday having dowloaded yesterday.

That is exactly what I thought about the 234 HP number. Way to low for an HO.....

Well, I tell yah what! We dynoed it at the Fall Brawl last year with about 200 spectators watching. I also have the dyno sheets to show youo if you would like. 3 pulls on the dyno. All within 3-4 HP.

In fact..... Here ya go. And yes, I was dissapointed to say the least, but so be it. It dynoed 236 HP. With the TST alone and turbo, 448. No matter what school ya went to 448-236 is a 212 HP gain. Some may say the 236 HP number was low to start with, but regardless that is what the truck was and would still be putting out if I had not modified it.

My 264 was on the same dyno if it was at Kuaffmans. But yes... you did have a 212 gain if you dynoed the same day with and without. Out of three dynos my first was in the 230's also. Then he hit tow/haul and it went up to 264.

I had to do a double take, because I thought I posted something untrue. I am Lightman on just about every other forum, I wondered why I couldn't get that handle here! Who the heck are ya? :-laf

lmills, What is the PTO high idler feature? Haven't heard of this before in the Downloader. I was hoping someone would incorporate that type of feature into their box.

My point was the your truck probably makes 255-265 stock HP. All HO trucks seem to dyno in that range. The dyno operator gave you a false number because he didn't get the total HP out of a stock truck. It is harder to read the lower numbers. I have dynoed with 250 hp and also 310 on the same truck. The higher number was when it was shifted into high gear. Lower number was in 1to1.

Greg

With the PTO high idler feature, you can plug the box in, and set it up to run your idle up to 1900 rpm, for using a PTO winch, etc, similar to the high idle feature in the 04's, except you need the box plugged in. At least that's what I understood when I read the directions. Haven't tried it, yet. I wish they would download that program into the computer, so the box doesn't have to be hooked up.

lmills - When are you going to dyno, again? Maybe we could meet up. I'd like to see what this thing does for my truck.

Normally I would accept that if I was the only stock truck up there. However there were at least 3-4 other 3rd gens up there at that event and they were all getting higher numbers. The only difference was that I had a dually. Just to make one thing clear. I always use the same dyno and same operator, for tuning purposes.

When I take it up for the BD test, I will try it stock again. However we do have to consider it now has a turbo and exhaust. So I probably won't get an accurate reading.
