Hello Guys,

Wanted to tell you my thoughts on the Bullydog Outlook display. Had it a week now and it is almost too fun to use. I have to keep remembering to watch the road :-laf . This thing does it all. I installed it in a SRT-10 pillar and don't have to worry where i am going to put the rest of the guages. It monitors the following. Boost, EGT's (2 for multiple probe applications) 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times, speed, (adjustable for different tire sizes) engine RPM's rail pressure, and records highest levels of boost, egt, 0-60, 1/4 ml, HP and TQ. It is able the controll max EGT's by defueling at your preset temps. you can display any 4 of these at the same time Oo. I wish I was in a rural area to practice my 0-60 and 1/4 mile times :{

I will try to post a pic but one is in my readers rigs

Best regards

DD

Isn't it just an Edge Atitude monitor with a little different plastic and a Bully Dog sticker?

That's the shady part about the performance parts businees that you're not supposed to know about or notice!! :-laf In their defense... it happens all the time with many common household goods... nobody ever really seems to care then...

Matt

On edit: I wonder if Microsoft is going to take legal action against Bullydog. They have a product named Outlook too. :-laf This is the same company who sought legal action (and later retracted... ) against a high school student because the kid had a small web design outfit named "Mike Rowe Soft"...

Here's the story...

Mkoth,

The attitude for the Dodge doesn't do a bunch of things that the Outlook does. Bullydog is the only one selling this product and it is a great option for someone that only wants one guage and wants to have a variety of fun options at his/her's disposal.

It mounts either to the windshield (lower left near the dash) via a adjustable metal rod similar to the rear view mirror. Or w/ a round plastic insert that you can insert into any round guage opening.

Install was very easy also

Can you exsplain what it does over the Edge ?

BBD

How does it connect? I assume you have to install the EGT probe but what about all the other stuff? Is it a performance box as well?

BBD,

The Attitude for the dodge is not available from Edge at this time. So it is impossible to tell the exact difference. I apoligize as the data i had heard on the Attitude was incomplete. I called them to get the exact info and they dont have any info to share at this time. I asked when and they said down the road. They said the same thing for the Juice as they work together. I think both Bullydog and Edge make fine products but i am tired of getting the "down the road " story. My truck needs to be monitored now before i get into any trouble.

I am begining to wonder who is copying who?????? (just kidding Edge)

Yes you need a pyro probe( comes with it) and it hooks up to the Datalink connector and the MAP sensor. Very simple install. This Outlook monitor does not add any power it only allows you to adjust the power via a valet switch(25% 50% 75% and 100% of the power you already have)

Catoiler,

It should work fine w/ all boxes. It works great w/ my volumizer. Just plug it in first then add your box after it. I am no expert so call bullydog to verify compatability w/ your box.

Wow, kinda sweet setup. Since the factory auto's have a thermistor in the pan it would have been nice to monitor trans temps too, wouldn't even have to make another connection. When you say Datalink connector are you referring to the one inside the cab near your left foot?

Matt,

The Datalink connector is under the hood, coming off the driver's side of the block near/under the fuel filter. I has a connector plugged into it that has cut wires. If you didin't know what it was and you happen to find it you would say " Who the he!! cut this and why??????"

Best regards

Interesting... that must be a Cummins specific DLC because DC uses the DLC in the cab. I didn't know one was under the hood. Wonder if thats where the Cummins scan tool would connect that everyone says wont work on the 3rd gens.

I see under engine compatibility that it should work with the required adapter.

From what I understand the connector is can bus and one of the six gun connectors goes to it. I believe can bus is one step above obd2. I wonder if more info is available thru the can bus than thru the dlc.

Cummis has used the CAN bus on all the electronic motors, that dlc under the hood is what Cummins uses to access The ECM to flash,or read data. It is My understanding D/C has an agreement with Cummins that Cummins will not access the 3rd Gens at this time. The CAN bus will eventually replace the OBD 2 in all vehicles (federal law).
