I just down loaded the latest version of the triple dog program version 2. 7 and I must say it is a big improvement over version 2. 6.

With version 2. 6 I could not get hardly any smoke with the performance setting and the truck just did not feel as strong as it did with version 2. 5a.

Now with version 2. 7 I get much improved bottom end performance and when you get on it you see a nice black smoke out of the tail pipe.

I don't see the break down on what each version changed on the Bully Dog site any more so I don't have a clue as to what changes were made in version 2. 6 or 2. 7, their old page listed up to 2. 5a and stopped.

Does anyone have a clue as to what version 2. 6 and 2. 7 changed?

does anyone know what has changed? if it helps i will upgrade but i have the crazy larry and am not to impressed with it :(

I jsut bought my triple dog yesterday and after the dealer installed it I came home and noted that I had 2. 2. 2 in and the webpage had 2. 2. 7. So I called Bully dog and got a very technically competent person on the phone and he said that it was a must that I upgrade because of some RECOVERY functions with 2. 2. 7. He advised that when 2. 2. 2 crashed it took hours to restore it and with 2. 2. 7 it would only be a 15 minute phone call.

Kinda made me concerned over how much crashing and recovering I am in for but I went ahead and removed it. Did the upgrade via the internet and reinstalled it.

No problems but I cant say that I noted any differences since I only used 2. 2. 2 for 10 miles or so.

So far I do like the box as a former edge/juice user I miss my lcd but I didnt want to spring for the extra $300 to get it with the bully dog box

Where on the Bully Dog website do you see a history of software updates?

It is no longer on the web page, they used to have a page that out lined the changes for each version upgrade.

It went through version 2. 5a.

Version 2. 6 they never explained and now with version 2. 7 the page is gone so I have no idea what they upgraded, all I know is that version 2. 5a was pretty good, then I upgraded to version 2. 6 and the truck felt flat, now I upgraded to version 2. 7 and the truck feels good again with plenty of low end power that version 2. 6 seemed to have lacked.

Mine has never crashed so I would not worry.

i guess ill upgrade tonite just to see if it helps. but the dyno numbers i saw were pitiful with the crazy larry box. no where near what they claim.

stock was 285/516

crazy larry was 388. 21/673. 13

rotts4u, can you elaborate on your experiences between the edge/juice and the bully dog. Why did you switch?

When I sold the 2004. 5 truck I pulled the Edge off and sold it on ebay as the wiring for the injectors was different for the 06 truck. At that time I didnt know if a conversion from Edge would be offered or not so I just sold it.

Then after getting the 06 truck the dealer later mentioned they were now selling the Bully Dog box and took me for a ride in their truck with it installed. It felt pretty nice and I liked the idea of not having to install a EGT or running a bunch of wires etc like I did for the Edge/Juice. So I bought the Bully dog mostly for those reasons.

I liked having the in cab display of the Attitude but to be honest it never really told me anything that I needed to know because I usually ran on 1-2 with an occasional level 3 for smoke generation purposes.

With the new Bully dog I set it on the low level so far with an occasional shift on the fly to #2 or #3 and I am happy with the power it makes. For the average guy like me that just wants a little more power I would be happy with either one of these kits. The Bully dog is easier to take in and out for trips to the dealer if I need to remove it though I am not too worried because my dealer will not hassle me. On the road may be different

Plus I dont have the tale tale signs of velcor on the fuse box and a drilled manifold for the EGT. In the end it was just easier for me to get the $500 triple dog box without the incad deal over the Edge box. I just hope I dont have a crash problem with it as some people must have had which is why they released the new software. I had a hypertech in a GMC a few years ago and twice it crashed my whole ECU. I hated that thing.

Both Edge and the Bully Dog seem to be well built products and I would not hesitate to use either one
