The truck delivered my Buckstop bumper this morning. Opened it up and it looks great! I'm not going to get a chance to put it on for a couple weeks yet, I'm elk hunting this weekend and I have to be on the road for work next week. Anyone out there installed one of these bumpers? I would appreciate any tips or advice.

Thanks,

John

I just installed a Boondock bumper this past weekend on my '02. Helping hand was nice. There were five bolts to remove on the front bracket, three on one side (drivers) and two on the other, and two bolts, one on each side. I have air tools that really help speed up things. Neighbor helped lift the new bumper on, came with 6 bolts for the front no need for side bolts. I'd recommend a floor jack to help hold it while tightening everything up. It really is an easy project.

Take care,

Casey

Fairly easy installing both my Road Armor's,but you do need a extra hand if possible like Hoof Hearted said. Mine came in at just shy of 300 LBS with the Warn 16. 5 T. I. winch. It seemed easier to bolt the winch and bumper together first before the install than try to drop that 150lbs winch in from the top later. I also used a heavy duty floor jack to get the bumper close, into position.

I love mine. I hit a deer at 60 mph a couple months ago. Not a scratch!!

These things are kind of heavy once you get the winch bolted on. Leave a gap between the bumper and body. If bulbs burn out you'll be glad you did.

These things are kind of heavy once you get the winch bolted on. Have some 4x4 cribbing, jack, porta-power, 3 men, and a gorilla. You don't list a location, but it doesn't matter if they salt the roads or not, PAINT the inside/backside. And get the edges!! I seen one in nevada that was pretty well gone with the rust.

I haven't looked at the rear bumbers at all. It looks great on your truck. I'm thinking I will look into one if I ever ding up the stock rear bumper on my truck.

I got the bumper put on this weekend. Between removing the old bumper, replacing everything that was broken when I hit the deer and bolting the new bumper on it took about 6 hours. I really like the way it turned out! The pics are pretty crappy, but they get the point across.
