burning used crankcase oil??

Fuel Prices got you down?

and they are saying - can you believe this - that the current cost of gasoline and diesel is based on $80 dollar oil - so expect costs to exceed $7. 00 this Summer when we start using th e$130+ oil

How many 5er's will be out there at $7/gallon?????? Should make that Campground selection very nice for the well heeled - OPPS - Sorry - They're be out of Business as well!!!!!:)

One analyst/expert or whatever was saying the pump price lags approximately six weeks behind the barrel price. So what was the price per barrel six weeks ago?

Edit: according to the EIA crude was $109. 25 six weeks ago. If the analyst was correct there is still room to go higher. I hope not.

I have a hard time swallowing that, as the stations around here raise their prices a day or so BEFORE there is an announcement of increased pricing on crude oil prices.

Indeed. The stations around here must keep a TV tuned to CNBC at all times. Somtimes literally within minutes of a big jump in the price of crude, they're out changing the signs and raising the prices.

And according to the GAO, if pricing WERE based on $80/barrel and 10% profit for everyone involved, we'd be paying less than $2. 50/gallon right now.

refineries work at 3-4% margin. Govt taxes = 14=16%

all in favor of govt regulation of fuel... .

NAY

btw barrel of oil = 42 gallons

Wow, thanks. It is refreshing to occasionally read a post by someone who understands that oil companies serve us by providing the products we require for transortation, heating our homes, and more. The oil companies employ thousands of Americans, pay good wages, earn a small return for their shareholders, and serve as a useful target for blowdried empty suit liars in Congress deceiving the voters to get reelected. Half of America is mad at the oil companies because the price of crude oil is $135 per barrel.
