Ethanol Question

Calif used grease fee is up to $400.

Hi Hammersly.

Don't fall for it!!!

All the hydrogen/electrolysis scams have one single thing in common- A secret way of splitting hydrogen and oxygen that requires less energy. So much less energy in fact that you put less into it than you get back out of it. Of course this violates the laws of physics. That clown fails to make a clear point of the fact that the car is still running on gasoline, with hydrogen being introduced at low pressure into the intake manifold as an additional fuel (kinda like adding propane).

I'll be convinced when one of them releases the car to be verified by a credible 3rd party... . Oh wait!... that's already been done and they found that low pressure hydrogen introduction had a small emission benefit and no mileage benefit. See: http://www.nrel.gov/vehiclesandfuels/ngvtf/pdfs/38707.pdf

Maybe if they put one of those mythical 100MPG carburetors and hydrogen on the same car it would run off of water vapor in the air and would never need refueling... except for maybe you poor guys in Arizona. Heheh.

... and the really funny part is that's the more efficient process of the two. Using an alternator to split water into H2 and O2 loses you about 25% energy because of the losses in the alternator efficiency alone. Then to extract the power back out of the hydrogen they're burning it in a 4 stroke engine, which is only about 30% efficient.

Wanna keep going? We're using gasoline in a 30% efficient reaction (combustion) to drive the alternator in the first place... more losses. Then , hydrogen has only about 10% of the heat content of gasoline, so we'd need 10X the amount of hydrogen to power the vehicle the same way.

I don't know how he can keep a straight face!

and then you wonder why we have such

poor reporting on REALLY IMPORTANT SUBJECTS!!!! These freaking clowns will repoprt what they are told - can you say LEMMING?????

dont laugh too loud, it DOES work!! (not sure about THIS one) there are 4 other proven methods that use less than an amp and less than 12 volts to separate the elements.

Hi DCreed,

you're right that there are some new developments in electrolysis efficiency. It can be done today with less energy than before. But... . I don't care how it's done, there will never be any energy gained by splitting water and recombining it, only losses. To do it on board an automobile will only result in large losses.

I'm sure that salt water could be a great fuel. All you would have to do is compress it to a virtually infitesimal size to that the atoms will fuse. Of course you'll need a super powerful magnetic field to contain the resulting ignition ... somewhere in the area of 50,000,000 F. Then you'll need a way to transfer that enormous energy release to a standard drivetrain. Just don't get into a car accident with such a car/truck, it would be kind of messy for a mile in all directions.
