Is it possible with this new HPCR engine to use old engine oil for fuel(if it were filtered down to 2 microns) without destroying a really nice motor. Would burning the oil help lube the fuel system with this low sulfur fuel coming at us??

Thanks Oo.

it won't help any, and i don't think it would hurt either in small doses 1:20 or so... these engines were designed for low sulfer, and they should last just fine with the UL sulfer fuel... dino oils burn better than synthetics if you are going to do this...

I'd be concerned about the inconsistency of viscosity with blending motor oil and passing it through the CP-3. That's not to say it would hurt the CP-3 or the injectors, per se, but it might make the engine run a little "weird".

I'm just guessing... there's no fact in this post.

Although not a 3rd gen, I have run used motor oil in both my trucks since they were new. I think I get a little better power and fuel economy. The concept is good... we just have to do it in a way not to damage anything on the truck.

Cummins uses (used?) a system call Centinel on the industrial engines that did this. I'm not sure they use this system on newer engines due to emissions issues(?), but you'd be well off using a quality lubricity additive if that's the concern. If it's just disposing of old oil, that's a different issue.
