Is it possible. I've been affraid to try it with my 06 Megacab not knowing what the consequences may be. If possible what do you guys do?

Thanks in advance, Mike

I did one on tuesday in 2nd gear... . lit up both back tires(stock tires) and held it there for a minute or so... So much smoke couldn't see the rear of the truck... :-laf :-laf

Yep, get a line lock and do all the burnouts you want (hard on clutches though). I dont have one yet but I just turn the fuel up, floor it, let the clutch out slowly, once they start spinning I slam the clutch out and mash the break. Little rough but it gets it done.

Talk to Bill Miller at Lou Fusz Dodge. I left the 4 black marks on their dealership's parking lot on ACCIDENT when trying to make sure I wouldn't roll into the minivans parked behind me when I left with my new '06 Ram 3500.

Heheheh. No feathering of the throttle is needed with these trucks... unlike the one I traded in.

the best way to do it with a manual is to do it in second gear, now take your right foot and put your heel on the brake and your toe on the throttle, rev the truck up to at least 2500rpm let the clutch out slowly at first, this will cause it to slip and build a bit of boost, once the clutch gets about 2/3rds of the way out dump it hard, be careful and not apply too much brake, our trucks have 4 wheel disks and make burnouts much harder than with the old drums. but get em cookin and let off the brake just a little, of course all this is with the throttle to the floor once the tires start cookin, I actually have a video of me doing it in my 6 speed '02 I was selling the truck and about to put on new tires, so I figured it was time for a burnout

I do it just the opposite CC. I rev it, pop it, and then catch it with the brake. do it fast enough and the truck never moves. too slow and it will try to push the front tires and kill it. I can let off the brake and keep the burnout going through 4th gear too.

the way i do it is different. i do it in either second or third let the clutch out start rolling very slowly then apply the brakes and fuel at the same time just try not to stall it in third. once the turbo lites the tires are up in smoke and then just use the brake to keep it under control. lots and lots of smoke.

Ahhh yes... I DO have a video for everything! LOL!

I made a set of BFG muds into racing slicks last month for this video.

We even had a camera on the side of the truck... But for some reason. . It took 30 minutes of black with no sound. :(

Here is the video we did get. My buddy Prozac from LA put it together.

BTW. . That was from a full stop. . In 3rd gear. :D SBC Oo.

Here it is. . 50 MB

BHaner 6 speed burn off

I got one more set of tires to melt down. . Maybe I will find a good parkinglot somewhere... :D

It must be time to get a Southbend cause I think I just about smoked my clutch disk trying to do a burnout last night. Man that thing was stinkin.

I may have been on the brakes to hard. I also had the TS MP-8 turned up all the way.

The way I do it is in 3rd gear rolling with about 2K rpm, then I pin the throttle to the floor and bear down on the brakes. it will smoke them as long as I want to hold the brake and it is easy to make the black marks as long as I want by walking it out.

I don't think my stock clutch is quite up to the task. I tried one last night and was either on the brakes too hard or my clutch is getting a little weak. My clutch stunk for 20 minutes after. Maybe I will try and do another one before I replace my tires. How tough are these stock clutches? I only have 48,000 on mine.

Tough enough for at least one good burnoff! :D :-laf

I dont think you will get it to hook in 3rd. . Unless you are rolling.

I was in 2nd, I think I just had the brakes on too hard. I don't want to toast my clutch right now trying another.

Would you like a couple of my old Pro Comps when I get new tires to turn into slicks.

BHaner,

What a cool video--sharp truck too! My question is, how do you get the burnt rubber off of the quarter panel. I have done burnouts in the past and have had the roughest time gettin that crap off! Also what music is in the video?

Thanks.
