is it normal for only one tire to spin while doing a burnout i know about limited slip but shouldnt that other tire kick in sometime ??????

I have an open differential, only once has my differential picked both tires. I was on level ground power braking after getting my DTT mods. Most ( Five or so other times) after that have been the right side only lighting up.

Reverse 15-20 ft prior to the burnout. It'll balance the gears and make both tires spin. But only till you shift then it's a one wheel woner :D

Like others have said, you'll very rarely get both tires to engage with an open differential. The idea of an open diff is to allow one tire to spin at a different speed. Since there is no mechanism opposing the free rotation of this tire (e. g. limited slip, locker, spool, etc. ), that tire will continue to spin since it is "easier" to keep that one spinning that to get the other one going as well.

ASimpson,

I was once a peg leg too. If my truck left the pavement-especially wet grass-I was stuck. The right side was the only spinner. I now have a Dana Power Lok in the rear. No more one wheel peel. I can now drive through my back yard-even when it's wet-w/out tearing it up.

I'm not sure what's different about my my rear diff but mine did this two-legged burnout for about 200ft before I had to let off... . this was done with 315 BFG's... . I've done this a few times and it's always a two legged burnout.
