Burnout?

If you know how to shift they don't. I have never had a problem stomp shifting during a burnout Hell I could even shift my little old 4 cylinder toyota with 33s on it during a burnout. It was getting the burnout started with only 116 angry ponies that was hard to do.

merrick , that was a cheap one , maybe ramhead3437 will chime in on his $1300 burnout , broken output shaft in his auto trans od unit ????



mine cost alot more , but i only had to pay $200 or so ...



burnouts with an auto are assisted very nicely by power braking up to about 10psi boost then just let off the brakes and floor it ...



john that was a sweet burnout stephan did , i'm still trying to finesse one like that can't get mine to stay in one spot ...

I didn't see it, but heard of it the next day--we were(cummnzpwer,bigbaddodge,my6eatsv8's, ccahill,drivesmopars,tom golden, treeman,bpine,cliffman, rubberneck and I know I'm missing some guys-sorry) at the Sacramento Drag strip on Saturday and ol' cummnzpower did a 10 minute burnout and won the burnout contest--I guess the tires lost some rubber(he,he) steel and looked pretty awesome--wish I could've seen it--but I had a sled pull to get too---chris

Bleach !!

DaveN - I've installed a few of those windshield washer setups,and they will allow almost anything to burnout. We put them on the little rice burners,so they can show off,or heat the tires up for street racing. If you really want a smoke show,just use laundry bleach. Nice white smoke. You can just pour it on the tires,hop in and let it go. Way easier on the drivetrain. Vaseline,or WD 40 on the rockers will allow the rubber to come off easily afterwards.

How much hp? I dunno. If I hammer the pedal in 4th, the tires won't grip until torque falls off--about 3400 rpm. I don't know if Sickly needs all 600 hp to do that or not. Maybe pavement is greasy out here in Nevada

Before I got my new tires I had a heyday doing burnouts on a lonely remote highway on my way home from the July Timberline event.



I revved it to 1800rpm or so and would dump the clutch in 3rd, and had no trouble breaking both back tires loose and really lighting 'em up. I could lay rubber for at least 50-75 yards until my truck speed caught up to my tire speed. After I mastered the 3rd gear launch it was time to try a 3-4th upshift to sustain the burnout. Well I got a good launch, chucked it into 4th real fast but then it instantly redlined and smoke was really boiling from the back end. WTH?? I let off of it and saw that at the point of my upshift my limited slip let go. The pair of tracks turned into a solo streak I really lit up the right rear. Needless to say I didn't try that again since I didn't want to toast my rearend.



For kicks I saved 2 of my old tires and now I need to get a hold of another 16x8" rim for a set up "burnout" slicks, so I can have fun without expending those spendy BGF KOs

Joe, So how driveable is sickly anyways?? Does it have very good street manners at all?? And surely you have got to have a good street race every once and awhile Just curious to know what Sober 600hp truck drives like
