Help; need a car hauled from Texas to Idaho

I recently found an area on my TT awning that was burnt by fireworks.

Can anyone that's had something similar happen to them offer some advise on the best repair method? Are there any kit type deals out there? Are they worth a dam?

It actually burnt through several revolutions of the awning. I believe the roof material that seemed singed is still watertight, but I'll give it a closer look tomorrow.

TIA.

I tried one of the awning repair kits from the RV place (some kind of clear stick on stuff) It wasn't worth a crap. So I just pulled out my trusty roll of white duct tape (yep it comes in white and I got it at Lowes) It worked well and lasted longer than I owned the trailer. It is probably still on that awning today.

We were in Mexico a while back when a big Fiesta was going on. The locals were shooting all sorts of fireworks. I put my awning in but was really concerned about something landing on my rubber roof. hope your is OK. I think i read somewhere that a patch kit for a doe-boy swimming pool works on some awnings

I would try some rain gear patched. H/H (Healy Hanson) Sell rubberized patched that are self adhesive with nylon backing. Probablly a sporting goods store thing.

Why didnt I think of that?

Thanks for all the help guys. I went with the duct tape, but I was reading the different ones there, and went with the clear. It's supposed to be 3X better than the others.

At any rate, there's more than enough there so that I can replace it yearly, or do more repairs if necessary.

I also looked at the area that the fireworks nestled in between the awning, and I was mistaken. It singed the rubber part on the gutter, so no worry of a roof leak. I'm really glad since this TT is only a year old. :D

Thanks again.

So, now ya got yourself a sunroof... ? :-laf COOL...

:) No, the holes are so small you'd have a hard time pushing a pencil through all but the first hole. :)

But I guess I could do the sunroof thang if I ever want to. :)

It's a real pain but you can sew a simular colored patch on the hole and then waterproof the area with some 303 works greta on a 8 year old Ooops. Duct tape last about 1/2 a season if you use your awning much.

I don't feel so bad now. The 1st trip we made in our new trailer got "rained" on by fireworks. I was so mad it's not even funny. Luckily we didn't have any burn-thrus but we did get a bunch of black stains on the roof and awning.
