OK, here's my 2 cents worth. I bought the pods, and they do smoke, but do they ever haul the mail!:--)

I also kept my factory exhaust system, cut out the muffler and added a 3 inch muffler, and had mandrel pipe put in place of the kink in the back where the pipe goes over the axle. Doing that, and adding the oldsmoky mount and a BHAF, and it really works Every time I hit the gas, I feel a big :D

Hope this helps,

Jim

POD's = good. Got 'em in, and they be nice. I figured if I'm going to spend the jing on injectors (after 223,000 miles) I might as well go for the gusto. Money well spent. If yer gonna BOMB, BOMB big.

I decided on the Bosch 185's after talking to Mark at PDR. Are you gonna use this truck to tow alot? Worried about EGT's whole towing? I am really immpressed with the power increase of the 185's, never been around the POD's, I can only imagine. I tow regularly and tow heavy, I also didn't want to worry about egt's, or lift on long hills, so Mark prescribed the 185's. I need to adjust some more because I can still hit 1400 on long hills if not careful. My screw on the back of the pump was already turned past the stop a couple of turns!

Thats why I went this way. Need to pick your parts for your application. Want it to run real hard, for truck pullin, or racing, go all out. Want a pleasurable increase in power and still work the heck out of your truck think about the 185's.

Maybe my 90 will get some pod's, just have to wait and see.

Hope this helps.

Dont forget the EDM injectors by Formula 1 diesel. Quite a bit more than the PODs, but supposed to not smoke, and make a REALLY fine spray. I was told they are a step above Extrude Honing. I'm trying to work enough (here in swampeast MO? Hahahahah) to save the money to try a set. I dotn like the sound of the PODs smoking, though that can be controlled by adjusting the right foot, and tightening the AFC spring tension. I get enough smoke with stock injectors, but one is stuck open... ... PWs wouldnt give me any gain, or so I've been told. But it would be nice to have an even set of injectors and a smooth idle. Will have to wait and see.
