Osama Bin Ladin ARRESTED!

"There comes a time in every man's life when he must spit on his hands,

raise the black flag and begin slittng throats!"

Crazy Horse, love the Iwo.

I saw this thread and was reminded of a class I took in the Marine Corps about the cultures of our enemies. W. W. II was the example used. It was said that if the Japs would have been more Western in culture, things would have ended much sooner without the use of Atomic bombs most likely. Hitler was a fighter and military strategist like most of the rest of the Western World was at the time. His people were the same way... die for your Country, but surrender was in the dictionary of their minds, and ours if needed be.

The Japs were a whole new enemy. Nothing we had seen before compared to them. they were willing to die, just like us, only to them you became a hero in death. Tears were not shed when a Jap died in battle by anyone on their side. Mothers did not weep, Fathers were not angry. To die for the cause was a privilege. To come home without victory was a dishonor to not only Japan, but to your Family. Over there, if you are disowned by your Family, you might as well pack it in because you will be forced to live a short pathetic life like an animal on the streets without any assistance from anyone.

It was said that if you had your choice in enemies to fight, better to go with Eisenhower over in Europe than with the Marines in the Pacific. The terrain was much better, there were civilians in Europe who would help, and the enemy knew the meaning of surrender.

Our latest enemy is just like the Japs of W. W. II. Its good we have the lessons of that war with us to use today. Our Grandfathers and Fathers before us not only secured our freedom, but also gave us priceless information on how to fight and win.

Here is a picture of a Marine Battle Color that somehow escaped any harm at all from the Pentagon Bombing. As you can see everything around it is destroyed. They said it was miraculously untouched, not a rip, tear, burn, stain anywhere. Not even enough dust on it to visually notice up close. I hope this is a sign of things to come for our young men on the battle fields.

Since they think they go on to glory when they die, we should help them all along and exterminate the whole bunch of them. They asked for it... .

Personally, I believe that the leaders are indeed afraid to die. If they were not afraid, they would fly the plane, or carry the bomb themself. Instead they hide behind thost that they influence. Yes, I think that they are quite afraid. It must be brought home to them.

Yes, Good old Mac was in the Pacific. That was his theater of Ops to be responsible for. The Marine Corps is a Dept. of the Navy, so we pretty much stick to amphibious warfare... soldiers of the sea. There were some Army troops in the area, just as there were a few U. S Marines fighting Hitler. However for the most part, Europe belonged to the Army, and the Pacific belonged to the Marines.

Iceland, due to its strategic location needed secured back in the Spring of 41 before the Japs hit us. It was a British Garrison, however Churchill didn't have the force needed to protect it. The U. S. Army said they could do it, but it would take some time to get there and get set up. The President called on the Marines needing a fast response. They took off in late June and arrived shortly after the 4th of July. To this day we still provide the security for Iceland. It was an amphibious ordeal, that's what we do, so they used us.

The Pacific islands were "raided" by Marines in amphibious assaults. Once the enemy was closed with and destroyed, alot of the Army troops went in to do construction work, build landing strips, bury the dead and the like. The islands were not just taken to kill Japs, we needed them for air bases and "safe havens". The Marines in Europe were there primarily to train the Army guys on amphibious landings and beach assaults.

During the invasion of Okinawa, there was more of a dual Army/Marine fighting force. The Marines were prepared to fight bears with flashlights, but the Japs had decided to lure everyone in, and decided not to oppose the landing. The Japs saw this as the last hurrah, and unleashed more kama-kazis than ever, in waves up to 350 planes strong at times. The U. S. Navy was trying like hell to provide support for the Marines and Army troops on shore who were fighting very fierce Japs, all the while trying to fight the Japs as well. The U. S. Navy lost 34 ships, 368 damaged, 9000 Sailors dead. The greatest losses ever sustained by the Navy in a single battle. Just a bit of history.

Yep- we needed some REMF's to occupy the islands we took so we could go take more islands! :) Semper Fi!

I heard a joke once... .

In WWII, when things were REALLY nasty, so that no other fighting force was capable, they would send in the marines onto the various islands to take ground, and the seabees were glad to see them come.

Yup,

That is what I thought!

My Marine buddies always seem to forget about the rest of the armed forces!:D :D

The Marines are a proud group, and rightfully so, no doubt about that!;) :)

Small tidbit to ponder

This relates directly to a couple of other posts I have made about how to break their will just like the Bomb did to the Japanese.

When these suicide bombers are recruited, they are promised that after they sacrifice themselves in what they consider to be their Holy War (Islamic Jihad) not only will they the suicidee go to meet Allah, but every member of their family wil be taken care of for life with whatever needs they may require: food, water, even money.

Now if we could somehow get into these mushminded goofs that once their identity was learned (as it almost always is discovered), their family becomes the target for retribution rather than the person who recruited them. This retirbution would consist of ensuring the family (according to their own religion) were killed/wiped out in such a way they were assured to go Directly To Hell, Do Not Pass Go. Do Not Collect $200!

I now some of you probably think me to be a wacked out sicko, but I'm telling you this would be as much a detterrent as wiping out the leaders. Maybe better in some ways as this snake tends to grow another head after it has been lopped off! This method strikes at the very core for most of the reasons why they do the crime. The main drawback as I see it is WE as a country do not have the stomach for total and complete retaliation with extreme predjudice, and the cry baby PC crowd would have an everlasting fit if we ever attempted it!

Wakeup! This is war! Bad things happen to nice people in wartime! The prime definition of WAR is Killing, dying, and blowing things to smithereens. As George C. Scott in the role of Patton stated in his prologue speech to the movie, "No poor dumb ******* ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb ******* die for his country!"

Insert "religion" in lieu of the word "country" in the last line.
