Buying 2012 RAM 3500,What to look for?

Not me. My truck for the model year 2008 is long enough with a short bed. Try parking a Mega Cab Long bed it would be a nightmare.

I don’t think it would be that bad. 11” more wheelbase than my truck, which is only 5” more than the current F-250/F-350 CC LB.

I find width to be a much higher issue than length.

John, the current Mega cab is around 249.5 inches long with a wheelbase of 160.4 inches. Now you add an additional 11" to the wheelbase and this would approximately be 171.4 inches and the overall length would be 300.4 inches or over 25' in length. Try parking that beast in a metropolitan area such as the Chicagoland area, no thanks.

My current truck is 20'-6" long and this is hard enough to park in some cities were there is restricted parking lenghts on city streets.

Yeah, I choose not to go to those places so not a problem for me. I spend most of my time far away from anywhere "city like".

I've been driving crew cab long beds for almost 20 years, even downtown Houston, TX... short beds just look wrong to me kind of like big trunk.

I'm in the long truck game with my 2017 Ram 5500 CC C&C with its 9ft 4 inch bed. I like looong beds too.
