Hello,

I just bought a Kore Chase system from DRC and I'll be installing it this weekend.

My install will not be straight forward however since I'll be removing my Tuff Country 5" system at the same time. Here's my question: I believe that the installer had to install an add-a-leaf in the rear. Does anyone know if they removed an existing leaf during this process? So are they in fact replacing an existing spring or are they adding another spring to the mix.

I hope they just added a spring because if they replaced a spring I do not have the originals.

Second question - where in the spring order do the new springs from Kore go? I know that they don't replace everything.

Thanks!

On my 97, they went on the bottom of the main spring pack. I removed the top overload and the really thick bottom leaf. Basically, it replaces the overload set. My truck is a Heavy 3/4; don't know how the later models were sprung. I'm sure if you call Kent or Greg, they'll be able to answer your questions. Good luck.

leaf springs

I went out last night and took a close look at my leafs. The bottom one is pretty flat and looks like an overload. The next spring (from the bottom up) has the most arc. I believe that it is the add-a-leaf. Then there are three more springs, a spacer block and then the "camper springs". So that means that there are currently 5 springs on the bottom then a 1-1. 5" spacer block and then two more springs.

So does anyone with a stock truck around the 1999 vintage know if they have 4 or 5 springs in the bottom grouping? I figure that this would be the best way to figure out what my starting point is.

Thanks!

Hey, this is sage with Carli Suspension. You will need to pull out the main over load on the bottom of the pack, the add-a-leaf above it, and the spacer block and "camper springs". Now install the Kore mini pack to the bottom of the existing pack. Remember to put clamps on the outsides of the springs not being removed. This will help keep the center pin holes aligned to ease the install of the mini packs. If you have any more questions feel free to call me at (714)273-0278. Good luck.
