Buying a truck outside CA

Hey guys. Went to triple A (automobile club) and asked about registering a new 600 ram purchased outside CA (where prices are reasonable). Provided that the truck is truely 50 state smog certified, the only "fees" added to the truck registration is the difference in sales tax between state purchased in, and CA. This should eliminate the "used vehicle" pita that we've had to endure for so long.

I ordered my 04 from a dealer in Denver. They are going to charge me the Arizona sales tax, and then write me a check back for the tax. When I register the truck in AZ, I will then pay the tax for the same amount.
