My VP44 is on the way out, I have a dead pedal every time I drive the truck. I used to return the throttle to idle then get back on it, and that worked for for a while. Now the truck is acting up at all throttle positions and at any speed. I have checked the APPS for a dead spot but it checks OK. I'm on my third lift pump and I still have good pressure, but I bought the truck used at 20K with a bad lift pump.

I'm now looking at different vendors for a VP44. I'm really like the info and approach from Blue Chip Diesel, but just wanted to see if anyone else had any recommendations for a new pump vendor.

Call around..... Nobody has anything different than anyone else. All run the latest electronics (not FedEx module anymore) all use the same programming. Bosch sets the standard for a VP44 pump and all Bosch certified shops do the same work. Look for a vendor that you trust and a warranty you like and then purchase from them.

Irox,

I purchased my VP44 from Blue Chip almost 2 years ago. Now has 111,000 miles on it with Catcher, now Smarty, and lately stacked with TST. Still works perfect.

I have also sold and installed VP's from Scheid & Industrial Injection. No problems from any of them.

One question to ask is typically how long after they receive your core back before you are reimbursed. Some companies take a LOT longer than others.

Godspeed,
Trent
