Had to buy tires all around tonight. The price of everything is going up outta site. This sucks. :mad: Just had to rant because I'm mad. Boy did I want to say something else instead of "mad" but I know that Mr. Moderator would bleep me if I did.

LOL Naaah I wouldn't do that. I am probably going to Vomit when I get my truck back and need to put 6 tires on it. LOL doubt that is going to happen this year.

Nope its a 2001 and I need 200+ rims for the 255 tires :cool: Man I have been waiting my whole marrage with my truck to hear that question. . . . Throw em in the pay it forward section :{ .

I have been shopping for tires for the 2000, down to looking at used tires now, I wont buy cheap asian made time bombs so almost have to sell the truck to buy the tires #@$%!

Anyone know if 235/85s would fit on my '99 drw? has 215s on it right now... kinda looks like it has scooter tires on it sitting next to the '00 even. The slight improvement in mpg would be more than welcome and consistency would be nice too, our trailers all have 235/85 LTs also.

Are you running 265/75r16 or 245/75r16?

Search for Tires by Size

2000+ trucks came with the offset to run 255/85 16's STOCK. Hence me running 255's ever scince I had the truck.

Easy way to tell is if it CAME STOCK with 215's then 235's will fit with no spacers.

If it came with 235's STOCK then 255's will fit. . . . again I have NO spacers, never had them touch loaded or not.

Info tag in door is for 215s, so maybe I will toss 235s on it next time.
thanks...
just need a second or is it third now job to afford them and the fuel

I've been keeping an eye out for used tires(255/85/r16)to come my way but they are just not out there. So I finally pulled the trigger on the Discoverer ST. I found them online at a tire warehouse and brought the quote to my local tire place and they matched it. Best part is now I have the warranty too. But $1100 later:{

yep, have called around for used, but just not coming up with any, especially not 4 at a time... I use cooper ATRs mostly, and if I have to buy new ones will buy those.

I was looking for this pic to show spacing and found it! (4 dvd's later LOL)

now that some lug... if I could afford it would get some like that for winter. . found some that looked like that but had stud holes.

I got the Bridgestone 235/85/R16's Dueler AS 661 cores this time and had them recapped. This is a first for the Bridgestones. I normally use TOYO Hyper radials and do the same. Are cheaper than brand new tires and can be recapped 3 to 4 times for about 1/3 the cost of new tires. Never had a problem yet.

I have 40+k miles on the set of Kumhos I'm running right now and haven't had a problem. Yeah, they are made in Korea, but they have been a great bang for the buck and are also run on a lot of cars, trucks and big trucks in Europe and Africa.
