Vic,

Just FYI, my 2 1/2 yr old son fits OK in the rear seat of the 98 QC. I have his seat on the passenger side and although I do have to slide the front seat forward a bit, my wife can still fit somewhat comfortably.

Number 2 is due in December so I might have to look at a 3 gen then. :{

Hey man, don't go doing anything rash! I've got a 2 1/2 yr old a 1 month old, a wife and a dog. We all fit in my '96 CC just fine. It can be done, keep the faith dude! :D

Oh, to the original question I've had two 24-valve trucks and two 12-valve trucks. I have found that the 12-valve trucks are more bulletproof, but the 24-valve trucks are more refined. Not much help, am I? Sorry but it's all a trade off.

I've been around quite a few 24 valves and they have a nicer interior but thats about it. I helped a guy haul cattle acouple times. He has a 98. 5 24v auto ext cab 4x4 (stock) and I have the truck in my sig. (transmission slipping). We also had pretty much identical trailers so everything was prettyeven. The only real advantage he had was he could walk away from me from a dead stop. But I would catch upto him after a bit and I could walk away from him on hills.
