A couple of weeks ago, my 2002 started making a buzzing vibration noise from the inside right of dash. I took out the clove box and the front facia and rove down the road trying to figure it out. No luck yet. It sounds like plastic and metal loosely touching that makes a noise when I reach 1600 to 2200 RPM.

Has anyone had this problem?

Thanks, Wiredawg

I've been having the same thing for the last 3-4 weeks, just can't pinpoint the origin of the noise. It's a little metalic buzz for a couple seconds. It might happen at a certain RPM range, but not positive of that either.

We have a noise like this in our 1992 Crown Vic. In our case, it is the right hand A/C vent. If it is fully open it will vibrate. Turned down just a hair and no vibrations.

More Description

This noise occurs regardless whether A/C on/off. W/ the glove box out and front facia off, my wife touched and put pressure on all the A/C vents and no dice. I'm thinking it might be the condenser. I'm going to get a friend to drive it for me while I probe around to feel it. I may try putting some pressure on the A/C lines coming thru the firewall to see if that helps. You can't feel the buzzing/vibration on or in the dash... you just hear it.

Will provide results.

had this problem on my truck when new. the verticle plastic molding on the right side of the windshield was touching the dash. had to grind out to give clearence. solved my problem. hope this helps

Fixed it today

All:

I figured out wht the noise was: It was the metal plate on the firewall that the PCM attatches to. Two nuts tighted two full turns and noise is gone.

Hope this helps others.
